I second that - watched there whole thing and the NSX didn't attract anywhere near the price anticipated. Last bid was £74K. UNSOLD

Many many cars did not make there reserve. A cooling in the market at the moment most definitely

After importing two brand new 22B's from Japan when they were first announced, I ended up importing a number of parts for them as Subaru UK were blocking all requests via the established parts network.

I supplied quite a lot of parts for the Hamed car. Actually one of his entourage challenged me to a fight with Hamed, I can't remember why, probably because I wasn't giving a 'do you know who I am' discount. I actually accepted the fight, as I knew it would harm his career more than mine. Nasty piece of work.
Oh do tell more so are we to assume as per his ring persona he believed that of himself in the real world too. Certainly was not devout an religiouse given his drink driving and death conviction.

Funny I always recall pic of him on the bonnet of his SLR and the article talking about how he was looking to buy an F1.

You never spoke to Hamed himself, it was always a lackey or other member of their entourage, possibly the cousin who was jailed. It was 15 yrs ago. I can't recall the exact reasons why I was challenged to a fight with him.

Out of curiosity I looked up and the chassis number of this particular car doesn't match any of the ones I ended up supplying parts for, so its either a different Hamed car I supplied parts for, or they used a chassis number from a different 22B, or that particular deal never happened.

Subaru Japan wanted chassis numbers of the car each time parts were ordered, but its possibly one 22B has had a very hard life according to J
I certainly supplied parts to several 22B's that were involved in heavy accidents - £ 15k of bits for one, £ 4k for another and £ 4.5k for a third.

The one needing £ 15k of bits was a very heavy front RH accident, bonnet, wing, bumper, wheel, wishbone, steering rack, headlamps, dampers, and lots of other smaller bits.

Because they said this:

NB. We have been made aware of a minor incident involving this car back in 1999 when this car was new. Having spoken to the body shop concerned we can confirm that only one panel and the bumper were replaced at the time and there was no structural damage whatsoever to the vehicle. It is HPI clear in all areas.

A crashed 22b for £70k? It doesn't matter if that pic isn't of the car, for £70k it needs to be faultless plus it belonged to that loud mouth idiot Hameed which would automatically knock another £20k off for me.

And an NSX for £90K rofl

Ridiculous prices. Don't get me wrong, they are good cars but neither of those cars are worth anywhere near that in terms of what they offer as driving instruments, especially when you consider they were selling for a 3rd of that less than 5 years ago.

Anyone who thinks this isn't a bubble is insane. I hope the whole thing collapses and lots of greedy people who have no interest in cars end up with egg on their face.
You could get one of the last 12 NSXs for less than 30k less than 5 years ago? Is the NSX a worse drive than a 355/Testarossa (now, not when new)?

I'd probably put them on a par in terms of drive, neither is worth anywhere near £90k in my book though. The article you linked to has the GT4 at £65k, yes I know you can't buy one now but that's just Porsche playing silly buggers. At £25k cheaper, it shows you how overpriced the older cars are now.

Personally if I was after a two seater sports car, I'd find it hard to look past a v6 Exige. At £50k it looks like an absolute bargain for a similar driving experience. This is what I base my valuation on when looking at cars, what else could I buy which would do the same job? £90k would get you into some serious metal, Gallardo, R8 V10, Aston Martin Vantage, I'd pick up the keys to those long before contemplating spending £90k on a 11 year old NSX or £70k on an Impreza and I owned and loved an Impreza Type R which is closely related to the 22b only a 5th of the price so this isn't some weird bias either. Some mythical status bestowed on a car which artificially raises it's price beyond anything which is remotely justifiable, not for me thanks.

Did it, Aye?

And let me guess - the aircon doesn't work but it just needs a regas and the airbag light is on but its just a £2 sensor, easy fix. Right? scratchchin

I'm reliably informed, that, the Mk1 RS2000 wasn't anywhere near one of the best, and 36k was a good result for the seller!
