RE: McLaren 570GT: Driven
Discussion
I think the whole point is that it's supposed to be "like a BMW saloon in comparison" to an LT
It's for more comfortable road miles.
It's ironic that people complain about Macs all being the same, then when they make a model with different looks/characteristics, say its not with buying, as it's not like the last one...

Interesting direction for McLaren to go.
In the real world I would think that this 570GT also has to compete with a low mileage almost new Ferrari F12 and I wonder just how well it would fare in a back-to-back test ?
I've a vested interest in the question because I'm potentially a customer for one of these two cars but only after a first owner has taken the initial big hit on depreciation.
Currently I'm lucky enough to have a ten year old Ferrari 575M which remains a superlative tool for crossing the Continent.
Dynamically the F12 is a considerable advance on the 575M, if not in looks, but the McLaren could be a potential alternative.
How about a twin test against the F12 ? Make it a triple test and I'd be happy to take along the 575M as a comparison.
Cheapest F12 I Can find in RHD is £212.5k which is a considerable amount more than an optioned 570... Its mid engined and much lighter than an f12/575 - however it won't sound as good as a high revving italian v12... Still too plain
675LT is still the only Mclaren worth buying.
I love this place!675LT is still the only Mclaren worth buying.
So anybody who bought any other McLaren has wasted their money then?
Thank God for that drive otherwise I would have had to sell my car for peanuts immediately having read Audemars most informative post .....
It's all over for me Bosh.
Before I read that post I thought I was lucky enough to own a massively fast, superbly planted and supremely comfortable cutting edge modern Supercar.
I realise now I've just wasted my money.
I'm just so grateful that I found out the truth before I set off on the tour of Europe I had planned for the end of June.
What a fool I would have felt.

For those who can't remember what a normal 570S looks like:
The only downside would be that the engine is impossible to ogle. Sounds like a great car.
Apologies if this has already been covered (see what I did there?!)The only downside would be that the engine is impossible to ogle. Sounds like a great car.
However, surely the that puts a big dent in heat dissapation from the engine?
I love this car, I think it might be time to call my dealer again....
