Matiz for me too. I felt like I was gambling on life every time I drove it.

On a slightly different angle to the same Q, I was recently given a Maserati Giblet for a couple of days. It was one of the most disappointing and underwhelming experiences I have ever had. What a terrible car.

God above but some have led spoiled lives . A Cayman - I feel your pain ....

Mine ? A 130k mile Cavalier with no synchro on 1-3rd inclusive, a coke can under the brake pedal(not that it made much difference as the brakes were ste ), passenger seat discoloured in a worrying way and sandwich wrappings (various vintage by the smell) on back seat and 12 psi in one tyre and up to 18 in the others . It did drive slightly better than the Mk 3 Escort diesel they also gave me , which seemed to make louder rattling as I pressed the accelerator but no other effect.

Worst has to be a Chevrolet Matiz.

Best however, was a brand new Black Alfa 159 2.4 Diesel, Auto, with full black leather etc.

Had that beauty for nearly 3 weeks whilst an insurance write off was settled. It literally hurt handing the keys back.

A 2015 Twingo. It wasn't THAT bad, just looked stupid, was ridiculously slow and incredibly thirsty for a car with such a small engine. Averaged 31mpg over a month, my Corsa VXR is averaging 36mpg across the same conditions, with more than 3x the power.

I haven't had many courtesy cars. The (then) new insignia I had back in 2014 was pretty nice.

And out of the 4 I've had so far the worst

2015 cayman 2.7
Serious??
Yes. I've had
2 X 981 cayman s
981 boxster s

Although I've only had them for 3 days max. So not sure if it would be classed as full scale hire.
Were they classed a courtesy cars though? ...or was it just your way of telling us you have a Porsche? smile

When my Impreza got rear ended not long after the model was launched, Subaru UK didn't have any rear panels in the country, this meant a courtesy car for almost 5 months.
What did I get to replace my 200+ BHP 4wd super saloon that I was putting 1200 miles a week on......

A 1.0 automatic Vauxhall Corsa

You can imagine how pleased I was.

Is there a difference?
As I can't imagine anyone paying for the death taps above.

Chevrolet Matiz. Hateful thing, could not adjust the seats to get comfy and looked like the tall guy from the Simpsons in the Beetle who Nelson laughs at. It was so cheap and nasty, it had passenger electric adjusted wing mirrors and manual on the driver's side.

From memory the driver side wing mirror was manual adjust and the passenger side wing mirror electric.

If you don't like your free courtesy car then don't take it.
Walk, cycle, use public transport or hire something that you will be happy with.

Lol at the hate towards the guy with the Cayman..

If he's owned a series of Porches, chances are he'll have had a few Porsche courtesy cars.

The question was simply 'what is the worst courtesy car you've been given?' to which he answered, the 2015 2.7 was the worst of those he has had

The service guys clapped out Passat estate that was full of wife & kids junk from Porsche Reading.

The Cayman I was supposed to have was not back.

They popped round to my house a couple of hours later with a new 911 C2s demonstrator to replace it!

I used to run the car fleet for a large company.

We used to have great fun picking suitable courtesy cars for colleagues when they needed them.

I often asked the hire company for the worst car they have for hire!!

Normally a Matiz was delivered. I also now know that is you are 6'6" a Matiz is not a car you can drive easily

A white Mk6 Golf Convertible DSG Diesel with Stop/Start.

Must have been a cancelled customer order as I can't see any reasonable dealership speccing such an awful pile of ste.

Daewoo matiz was quite fun I thought; one of those cars you could drive at 11/10ths without ever breaking the speed limit!
Worst for me was a 2013 1.2 litre manual Corsa. Fully blinged up with wheels, bodykit, stripes, full set of toys. 0-60 in... must have been about 20 seconds. Top gear was too high for the engine, could only just maintain motorway speed on the flat. Any incline or acceleration required a gear change.

The struggle is real. I too have been given a 2.7 Boxster and a 2.7 Cayman. No Bose, no bucket seats, nothing!
