I think it is a shame that this is all they could come up with to celebrate the M3's birthday.

The price is just taking the piss.

Wont be a problem finding 30 people for these. Been told it comes with one of these in the glove box -

I've read the article a few times and perhaps it's because it's late and I'm lacking in sleep but is the article suggesting that for an additional 23k you get Macau blue paint, carbon fibre interior strip wording, illuminated door sills and headrest embroidery.

WTF!?
Its worse than that.

This car is £82,675 (and assuming no discount)

Broadspeed will sell you a discounted M3 with competition pack for £56,081, so its £26,594 more expensive

Checks calendar.

Nope, not April the first.

Barking mad and offers zero value above a competition pack car. Proper marketing sell out.

What a missed opportunity. They should've gone for M4 GTS underpinnings.

The U.K. Will only get 30 of these and in Frozen Silver only. Also come fully spec'd up, so price isn't that much more when you add it all up. These will easily sell.

Porsche have been doing this stuff for years so can't blame BMW.
I did think when I read this that Porsche could get away with double the premium for stuff like this

Ford would have to give it you for about 4-5k

Hard to get over that price increase, but not the first time BMW have done this trick, albeit at a much lower premium:

The only interesting thing about this car will be the depreciation. smile

A massively missed opportunity, how lazy.

Should have had blistered arches, been considerably lighter with a proper 6 speed stick shift, take the turbos off and tune the engine up, make it a proper reminder of the past instead of an M sport package.

Porsche have demonstrated that a special edition with a proper manual will sell like hot cakes.

The 30 Jahre m5 of 2014 seems to be holding its value very well - if prices on autotrader are anything to go by.

BMW UK seems to think theirs are painted in frozen silver not Macau.
