1. best in terms of ergonomics?
2. best in terms of style?
3. best in terms of quality?

Think I'd want one which balances all 3.

Jaguar cabins are really let down in 1 and 3.

This could be just what you're looking for.

I am sure this is one of those sayings that people get annoyed about for the sake of being annoyed.

Surely in the context of the thread a fragmented sentence makes sense?
Not in my world.
You're one of them??

I've got a VW CC GT as a hire car at the moment, and while it's not exactly a thrill a minute to drive, I think its interior is gorgeous for a £28k car.

The only thing that makes that vaguely interesting is the two tone finish, other than that it is a standard issue, bland VW interior
I'm afraid I'm with Pooh in that it's well, not very nice.

I had a 2013 VW CC as a company car for a couple of years and the interior was plastic, as were the seats, the touchscreen system was dated and apart from the seats looking a little different in how they were stitched it was not a pleasant place to spend prolonged amounts of time.

I am sure that it is well designed and put together but so are lots of car interiors (my Brera had no issues in 105k miles), why does it have to be so utterly dull and devoid of any sort of design flair?
I had a new diesel Passat as a hire car recently, it was utterly bland, no fun to drive and had a gutless engine but the dull, unimaginative interior did seem quite well made. I have also had a Golf hire car and it was the same.
My most recent hire car was a 1.2 petrol Fiat 500 convertible and I absolutely loved it, zipping about London and Tunbridge Wells with the sun out and a smile on my face, did I care that the interior was not as well made as the Passat? not in the slightest.

Fair enough biggrin

Maybe we have different priorities in what we want to see. I saw it as well made, comfy, nicer than my old BMW and certainly a million years ahead of my Focus ST. I think it looks ok too, but perhaps that is just because Im boring.

On the contrary I found this interior fantastic on the MK7 Golf, very similar to the pictures, it felt extremely high quality and well screwed together. However the plastic were a bit hard, unlike the soft touch interior that is slobbered all over with leather in the much more upmarket CT 200h. Meanwhile, a basic Golf without an option, an early car was simply sub par - for something that cost £20,000 new did not feel like anything over £5,000. It was still smart however - what's the hate for VW interiors? They look and feel modern - imo its not bland. But that's me coming from a 2008 4.2 A6 as a daily. The Golf I looked at (Mk7) was £35,000 optioned new. The other Golf I saw (MK5 R32) was also a nice place to be - with a new steering wheel from the MK6 or 7 it would feel the real deal. Supportive, hugging buckets and a snarling VR6 go well.

I suppose it depends what you're used to but I chose a company car for ease whilst keeping hold of my older cars.

I'd rather have taken the allowance and carried on using my old E46.

I learnt my lesson and got out of it as soon as I could, took the allowance and went with something that made the VW seem extremely subpar.

Really?

So the questions is...

Who makes the best cabin interiors?

The reply is....

Panamera interiors are quite a nice place to be.

What is wrong with that? I am genuinely interested.

To me that says "Not saying they are the best in the world, or not for that matter, simply a nice place to spend time".

I don't think he is saying....

Panamera interiors are quite a nice place to be murdered.

Panamera interiors are quite a nice place to be raped.

I presume it just means a nice place to be while, you know, drive, as you do in a car.

Or am I really missing something? Probably, I usually do. biggrin

If you were going to be murdered there are worse places to be.

Always admired some of the 3 and 5 Series Bimmer interiors, and being of an age where I don't mind admitting liking a 'nice bit of wood and leather', this recent F30 3 Series cabin looks a nice place to be.

I quite like that. The wood looks a bit American. Never understood why Germans just can't seem to do wood properly in a car.

That said, I like that. But I'm wondering, how many F30's will actually look like that?

Verses the normal sea of black and grey that you normally get in BMW's?

For me it's this - new Volvo V90 estate. Just looks a relaxing place to sit & based on looking round an XC90 feels beautifully put together.

I'd agree with that, the Elegance (if it enters production) is even nicer for the rear passengers:

Not been inside one so cannot comment on the quality and feel but the interior of the DS 5 looks pretty smart considering the price range on the car:

I hate them. Despite the size of the car it's very cramped inside. Just looking at that pic makes me feel claustrophobic! Far too many buttons as well

Looks stunning. I agree with the XC90 too at the moment, which is surprising because I had the predecessor and it was plain, plasticky and ugly, if extremely functional and robust.

I realise I am completely ignoring the mainstream here, but I cant see an interior thread without posting the Spyker C8 which I love more than my wife.

I was semi seriously pointing out that this turn of phrase appears in almost every description of a car interior.
I think it's a Clarksonism from way back but it's become almost compulsory.
Anyway, not a big issue.
