I love Jap cars but in general they struggle in this department.

I agree with the Volvo and alfas.

Don't Mazda still shamelessly copy Alfa?

Suffice to say I don't think Lexus has it... Or any Asian car to be honest.

As much as I hate them I think that of the mainstream brands I think Audi must be up there.

In the right colour combinations, the Phaeton is a lovely place to sit.

The Alfa 159/Brera/spider has a nice interior especially with tan or red leather seats.

Also the new Giulia looks quite good.

Hate to say it as I cant really stand the marque but Audi do make a nice interior and I would say are consistent over the years with the quality and design.

Rolls Royce interiors are wonderful places to sit with regard to materials and overall quality. The leather, wood and aluminum is all first class as is the chrome, BMW in its better acs makes a very usable interior built for longevity.

Why can't the wood on the steering wheel and on the dash match?

Can we ever stop calling a car interior 'a place to be'?

Aye, not a fan of that centre console at all.

Also agree, as much as I like my Impreza, the interior's not going to win any awards. At least, no award that anyone wants.

Looks like someone tried to describe a BMW interior to the Japanese design team over a particularly bad phone line.

Nice, but you can hardly call that mainstream.
