We can't even get driverless trains, and they run on rails. driverless cars are a daydream.
What about the driverless trains that we already have?

Interesting development, Mercedes have just had a fully automatic bus drive a bus route from Amsterdam Airport for 12 miles to a neighbouring city:

I hate driving. The only time I remember enjoying it was on a Highland road from Grantown on Spey to Forres. Then I 'got it'. Empty, twisty and quick on a nice day. But the rest of the time? Traffic lights, roadworks, congestion, 20 speed limits, speed humps and other drivers being idiots? You can keep it.
Exactly, but a lot of Pistonheaders cannot get their heads around the idea that one can enjoy cars AND prefer Driverless vehicles for the Rush Hour Commute.
Once the robots take over they will kill you.

An autonomous, reasonably sized motorhome towing a trailor with vintage car, whilst occupants sip g&t's enjoying a game of whist en route to Shelsley Walsh.

Probably not in lifetime sadly, but something for the young to look forward too (when they're enjoying the wealth from the brexit that the older generation got them). smile

I've said it repeatedly but they can't come soon enough for me. As if I needed any other reasons some prick reversed into me at a traffic light yesterday. Stationary, six feet or so between us, light turns green, he puts it in reverse and whack. Then, as I go on one knee to look for damage he jumps back in his stbox and boots it. By the time I could react the light was red and the stebag wee was away.

With pricks like that on the road why the fk wouldn't anyone want a computer to take control?
