I got one myself. Doesn't feel as fast as the stats say but the speedo says otherwise

Quite thirsty on fuel round town but as a refined car especially given the price its brilliant

Also I remember looking around car brokers a few years ago for anything a bit interesting with good discounts, if I recall correctly you could buy these with huge discounts, about 21-22k brand new.
THIS 100%

Today you can get a brand new one discounted for around £24k, which makes this 5 year old insignia bloody expensive, as it has retained 62% of its value over 5 years compared to discounted new price. No thanks!!

Rarity adds value to certain cars, not certain it adds anything to Vauxhall Insignias.

I find myself having a strange attraction towards the V60 Polestar in blue!

Agree about the V60 Polestar, list price is silly, but when you see the discounted prices they seem very appealing.

Although the 2011 S60 we recently had puts me off a bit, completely different league as it was a D3, haha, but it was just the dullest car I've ever driven, lovely interior though. The other half always complained it made her drive like a pensioner, which is understandable as her previous car was a modified impreza wrx wagon, so quite a contrast.

Thought I'd have a nosey at AT and, funnily enough, an estate VXR at £8995:

Ok, theoretically im looking for a new (but used) family barge that may need to traverse icy roads on the edge of The Peak District in winter...
Estate? Check
Strong performance? Check
4wd? Er.... For me that culls the Volvo V70 and Insiignifica VXR by virtue of issues with their 4wd systems
Which tends to point me towards an Audi, S4 or S6, which although they will cost more at the point of purchase, will see that gap closed by the rabid depreciation of the Insignifica, and the repair bills for both that and the Ovlov.
Shame really, as I've had a a number of V70 T5's, and a V70R awd and loved them, but the gearbox and awd system are temperamental.
I guess a VXR of the Insignifica / it's replacement will go the way of big saloons that were so prominent into the 90's as built by Ford and Vauxhall - they ceded that ground to the premium German brands and show no sign of having the will, or the products, to regain it. Seems like the Germans also have a stranglehold on the premium performance estates too....

They're underrated but worth a look, yes they don't handle great but nor does an S4 but people still buy them.

the problem with this is the VXR8 for similar price, albeit you couldn't find an estate here

As others have said, that seems like crazily strong residuals for a car you could buy for less than £25k new?

15 grand gets you into some kind of AMG estate, a bit older but more powerful and feels as fast as the numbers suggest, or maybe an M5, just couldnt spend 15 grand on one of these.

Not a fan of the looks, but seems expensive 50% depreciation in 5 years most main stream marques get that in 3 years, unless I'm missing something here ?

FWD anything with Michelin CrossClimate all-weather tyres.

Job jobbed, as they say.

No point pissing around with 4WD for those requirements.

I found the build quality of the whole was fine, but the design of the interior itself looked cheap and tacky and the materials were not exactly a tactile delight - wobbly buttons and smooth hollow feeling plastic. They do seem to hold up well though, those lovely rubbery buttons in a VW aren't so nice at a few years old when the rubber finish peels off!

Yep me too disagree on poor quality. These are made in Germany and I've found mines been really good
