Interestingly, the highest lap speed of the LMGTE-Pro class at Le Mans 2016 is just over 131mph.
Let's not set the bar too high for what a "fast car" is, with that in mind. I think that Subaru is stinkingly quick.
Video is great to see. I watched it all the way through. Interesting to hear Higgins explain about cars being faster at all circuits, but what makes the TT unique is lots of shallow left and rights connected by 4 very big right handers.Let's not set the bar too high for what a "fast car" is, with that in mind. Also suprised at DRS on the Subaru, anyone playing down how trick and fast car that is, fails to grasp what it takes to do a fast lap.

In before everyone points out how bumpy the IoM course is.In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViDP0ZH3mm0 it's running a more 'normal' ride height and still beats a P1 LM, on what is (I imagine) a very smooth surface compared to public roads.
"Olly Clark has extended his winning run at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in his "Gobstopper II" - a Subaru Impreza Time Attack car. Following on from his 2015 win, Clark completed the hillclimb in 46.297secs, crossing the line at 140mph, and edging out Kenny Brack’s McLaren P1 LM!"

There are faster cars with more power and less weight, as has been discussed on here at length.
It wouldn't be impossible to build a car with half that weight and twice the power.
And you could remove 2 of the wheels and call it a motorbike. It wouldn't be impossible to build a car with half that weight and twice the power.
Here's an example of a car with half the weight and twice the power of the Subaru.
The fact that the technology is 33 years old and things have got faster/better: work out what a 2016 version of this would be like.

just posting pictures of things doesn't make them faster. I say it will be slower than the current fastest bikes until somebody can prove otherwise. Except they won't. xRIEx said:
I thought that but he did say a few setup tweaks

But his time was slower than the year before although he had 100bhp more, the TT car had around 100-130bhp less than the Gobstopper II but countered this with DRS so it's aero wasn't holding it back on the run the TT car was spinning up it's wheels more so with 780 tyre life might become an issue. In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViDP0ZH3mm0 it's running a more 'normal' ride height and still beats a P1 LM, on what is (I imagine) a very smooth surface compared to public roads.

But conditions were not as good as previous year especially the days building up to the run as all the rubber had been washed away so in essence a green track. You should be familiar with that from F1

I don't understand. Is that intentional gibberish?

Only someone who's never driven/ridden around the mountain course would suggest a car like that would be a better tool than a rally car. It would fall apart long before it finished. Here's an example of a car with half the weight and twice the power of the Subaru.

Why do people think carbon fibre is weak and falls apart? Yet metal doesn't ever suffer metal fractures?

Hill climb cars? You are a funny chap How long do you think the average hill climb course is that carbon fiber open wheel track cars tend to compete on, and what sort of speeds do you think they do?Plenty of hill climb cars look similar to F1 or F3 cars they don't fall to pieces of if they do the shoddy mechanic should be fired.
Clearly you have never driven or ridden the course either. I highly suggest you do, it will be an eye opener and you'll see very clearly why a fragile open wheel track car with negligible suspension travel would be utterly unsuitable.
