Hi chaps, after many months of umming and ahhing and flirting with importing a Camaro ZL1 I have today put down a deposit on a Mustang!

So excited, randomly walked into a ford dealer and they had an unallocated order arriving in 3 weeks!

Magnetic Grey 5.0 Coupe Manual with Black wheels and trim, Black stripes, Shaker and Nav, heated/cooled seats and parking sensors, paid list price only.

So can I get peoples opinions on best exhaust to get or may try Hayward and Scott - louder is better hehe - and has any one changed the rear lights to US style or blacked out? Also would like to get it lowered, read about the Peddars kit on here -any feedback?

I/f you want loud check out the corsa extreme or Borla Atack

Plenty of info on mustang6g.com and head over to the UK sub forum.

You have done well skipping the que. I ordered in December and it's been hard work.

Roush axle back is all that is needed to make it sing....

https://youtu.be/GLQoKNh7TAk

Still pops bangs and sounds beautiful, but zero rasp or drone, plus you dont have a huge exhaust to try to move / store and its simple to revert it to standard as required.

That sounds..... amazing. Did you buy from the UK or direct from the US? Rough price and supplier would be much appreciated!

I've looked on American Muscle in the meantime, is it this one http://www.americanmuscle.com/roush-axleback-2015g... or is it the quad tip active one?

yep, that's it, I had it shipped by American muscle.

Cost £50 for fitting, plus original silencers will fit in boot.

On two monaros and a vxr8 which were previously owned I had full cat backs, but the mustang is plenty loud enough just with the back boxes changed.

I plan to get the Ford racing ones to work with the standard shocks, or leave standard.

Car rides really well in standard form. Have gone down Eibach and lowering springs on other cars and they very rarely as as in tune as the factory damper / spring combo. Either far to bouncy or crashy.

Having just completed these changes... . I would highly recommend the Roush Axle back.. Changed myself.. simple cut at the first bend on the rear section... Comes with all hardware, took us 20 minutes.

I had also swapped out the Resonator for a H Pipe. It now sings.. Great burble, a few pops and rumbles when changing down, which always brings a smile to your face. But get on the loud pedal and it screams.. If anything a little too loud, but it's a Mustang right.?

As far as I have been told, The box itself doesn't have any wadding, but the through pipe has holes to capture and disperse the flowing gases when the pressure is low (revs). But when you get on the gas, it is almost a straight through with very little baffling.
It now sounds like a true muscle car.

After looking at many after market springs, I took the plunge for the Swift Spec R lowering springs. Only an inch front and back, so the 19 inch wheels fit the arch perfectly. They are a linear spring, but the ride is perfect. Swift have been making springs for many years as a specialist company, they have had great reviews. Along with a rear subframe Steeda bushing kit, the back end is now fully planted, no soft tail or wheel hop. NVH is non existent from the suspension or is there any major drone from the exhaust mods.

Overall I am extremely happy with my choices, many many weeks of research have been fruitful.
CJ Pony parts, Swift springs Directly and Steeda have transformed my car to what Ford should have produced in the first place.. Check out the videos from CL Pony parts for fitting.. It really is that easy.

Cant beat the Borla S type,
As for lights you just want the red tails? or for them to flash sequential? A mate of mine who has the UK S550 was quoted nearly 2k to do that as would need a duel system, for me with a US S550 its still going to cost a few hundred for a duel system
for just the actual glass? a lot of the Yanks want the clear glass, so might be able to do a swap

I believe it is around £2300.00 for a pair of new RED Ford rear lights!!!!
I contacted Ford direct to see if you could order a new Mustang with the correct red rear lens, the answer is No..... I was informed that they don't comply with our con and use regulations
Quite how America put man on the Moon back in 1969 ,and today can't produce a red rear light for a Mustang sold in Old England is beyond me...but there you go!

So far have decided on Roush axle back and MRT h-pipes biggrin

Rear lights will just go for film either red or black, dirt cheap and can peel off if I don't like it.

Have also realised I don't like the faux filler cap at the rear so ideally would get a US style rear deck lid.

Oh god, this is going to be expensive ...... hehe

I can second the Roush Axle Back. I ordered one from CJ Pony Parts in the US and had it fitted by a friend who works for Ford. Very straight forward sleeve over fitting, took him about 45 mins.

Sounds amazing!!

I have also had film fitted to the lights front and rear which i think makes it look a lot better. I had that done at GT 101 in Colchester, Essex.

Thanks for letting me know. Funnily enough, I already spoke to him a few days ago.

9-10 months officially. I ordered mine last week. You can get them earlier I suspect, but I didn't want mine until the new road tax rules come in (the year 1 tax goes up £800, but the annual goes from £500 odd to £140, so long as the list price is <£40k
