Good grief.
Head like a robbers dog this morning.

I woke to the smell of alcohol, then remembered I'd bought a pint of Jack Daniels and coke up to the room.
Thank christ I didn't finish it.

Plan today was to drive up to the Nueburgring, it's only half an hour from here.
Alternatively I may just spend the day throwing up in the toilet.
It's nice to have options.

I think one way or another you are going to end up throwing up.

Either in your room or at the Ring.

You go to the Ring and puke your ring up....so to speak.

Just to echo above, great read, really enjoying it.

I'm afraid I didn't get to the ring on Friday, I was a little off colour!

Thursday night I had 4 or 5 beers at the hotel then went across the road to a little bar to watch the match. They only had one type of blond beer which I don't like so I very foolishly went on to spirits. Got on great with the locals in there so we were all slapping each other on the back and buying endless rounds "Try this try this!". Half the time I didn't even know what I was drinking.

I got up Friday, staggered about for 20 minutes then went back to bed, getting up occasionally to vomit. Stayed there until 7pm.
The whole day shot, bloody idiot!

Back in France now, staying at Lille.

Went into town last night to watch the Germany/Italy game:

On the left there are Colin and Helen (don't know who the other bloke is), lovely people, really pleased to see Wales doing so well.

Ended up in another bar very late. Can't remember who these guys are but they were stunningly pissed and kept buying me Yeager bombs, they were all mad but good guys:

Yeager bomb photography!

Woke up this morning with this on the bed next to me:

Christ knows where I got beer and chips at 2 in the morning.

Still got a load of pics to put up from that car place, do it later at the hotel. France is a bit grim on Sundays, not much happening but I've managed to find a bar open, happy days!

This is a bit strange this hotel.
It's nice and all that, a chateaux in its own grounds, very quiet:

The lady who owns it lives here and has six rooms available for guests.
Last night there was an American couple staying here so breakfast was a cheerful, chatty affair. He has recently retired but he was the chief lawyer at MGM responsible for drawing up all the film stars contracts.

But they left this morning. I've just come back and the owner is out so it's just me rattling about the place. It's all a bit creepy with creaking doors and dark passageways leading off to god knows where.

I texted my other half and she said I should run about naked.

Think I'll get a cab and go back to the pub.

On Eurotunnel. About 1500 miles covered on the mainland.

Happy with most of the hotels, a couple were particularly brilliant, will definitely stay at them again.

Didn't do as much visiting and touristy stuff as I normally do but more than made up for by some fantastic driving. The clock is definitely ticking on finding places you can still have fun in a car.

First thing I'm going to do back in blighty is go to a Burger King and pig out! I rarely eat crap food like that but I've been living on bloody bread and cheese for 12 days and I want to feel sick from eating too much!

Thanks for following. Need to get home and see the OH now, missing her as I always do on these trips.
After food, obviously. smile

Probably but you've managed to avoid the Ring despite being 30mn drive away ! wink

Thx for the thread either way, I like a road trip, it does give you a sense of freedom.

I would never have taken that car on the Ring anyway, I wouldn't trust myself to get around it without hitting something!
