Perhaps not as out there as some of these but as a nice piece of design I liked the fact that all the glass on the original Fiat Panda was flat to save cost.

I suspect if it had 4 rings on the grill rather than a lion it might have sold a bit better.
I may be biased though

Exactly that ^^^^^. More people want an Audi on the drive than a Peugeot. The Lion on the front killed that car somewhat.

Me too. I'm so pissed off that Peugeot built it rather than sell the design to someone who could build it properly.

The rear end and the double bubble roof is fine, but the front end would have to be a facelift one. The original giant grille is just wrong.

Since this lot, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magna_Steyr

Thin glass to save weight.

Just looks so right.

Saw this at the British Motor Museum. A car built purely as a showpiece for a glass manufacturer - quite fitting for this thread:

Just musing that wrap around rear tailgates were all the rage in the late 80's to mid 90's, though they have sadly disappeared today.

A personal favourite;

VX Tigra (shame about the rest of the car, but just look at that wrap around screen!)

Anyone have other examples of interesting glazing on cars? Can't think of regular production car with anything vaguely adventurous these days.
The tailgate created such pressure when closing that vauxhall made the car auto open the passenger window when closing it.

I didn't know that. It's a dull but interesting piece of trivia, if you see what I mean.

A lorry (sort of) rather than a car, but what about the 1950 GM Futurliner:

Yes it was only the badge that made people choose a TT over an RCZ.

And the 200kg extra weight
And the lack of power
And Peugeot's reliability record
And the lack of options
And the depreciation
And the cheaper feel

But apart from the weight, the power, the reliability, the options, the depreciation and the cheaper feel... It's only the badge!

Let's not forget the lack of AWD option, even Haldex is better than FWD in sporty coupe. smile
A great many reviews of the TT disagree with that; many journalists seemed to think the 2wd mk2 TT drove better than the 4wd ones.
