Just wondered if anyone on here has placed a deposit on a DB11? A mate is off to finalise his spec today for delivery in March next year.

Interesting. People are saying their preorders and such are excellent but none on this forum has purchased? Maybe a bit of rumors and hype for the masses?

AML have announced 2,000 deposits taken for new DB11 orders.
They went on to say, that this volume has exceeded their expectations for the new model.

If yesterday's announcement is anything to go by, circa 80% of sales are non-UK. Guessing there are a few here who might have a deposit down but just haven't seen the thread yet

Yes - buying a hardly used, 'as new' Aston Martin with 40% off list, is very tempting regardless of personal wealth.

That method though, does of course rely on new buyers for it to work.

Indeed it does. I also would need to super impressed with the turbo units and how they drive to consider it.

I have to say - I'm not in love with it. The shape doesn't work for me and it's far too Merc inside. That aside, there are no units to really test drive at dealerships at the moment so I can understand people would be hesitant.

Chris.

A few of them are in Germany, almost 20 as far as I know. Most of them are dealer orders. Comments I heard, if I want Mercedes look and feel I would buy Mercedes... current AM owners seem to be not that happy. By the way, Mercedes GT R almost sold out.

Not seen the ITV 4 clip but found this on TubeYou.

Maybe it's me but I have a soft spot for the Vanquish and both together, it still looks better.
As for noise....well it's V12 NA still for me from this clip.

There was one at Goodwood (well 1 and a half if you include the cut-away model they had) and Andy Palmer himself was driving it up the Hill. In fact on Sunday I was with one of the chaps who's ordered one. Andy took him up the hill. But that's just 1 UK client.

140 + dealers worldwide , so say 15 per dealer on average might be feasible if you include stock cars and the odd speculator.

But regardless of which brand car I would be interested in buying at that sort of money, no way would I commit to purchase without a serious test drive and I'm sure I'm not alone here.

..as the 'videographer' says in the clip as the Vanquish drives by - "Oh, Ja". Amazing how much more muffled the DB11 sounds.

Presumably the earliest customer spec. delivery date must now be in 2018, so that might lead to a premium. However, if many of the initial orders are for dealer stock, then an earlier purchase would still be possible.

Update: I enquired and was told I could be given a build slot for Q4 this year as long as I went with a "Launch spec" car - i.e a car with circa £30k of options added!

£20k options = Q1 2017 and anything less mid 2018
