Fantastic choice, great to see someone bringing one to the UK and actually going to use it.

The correct tires are 345/60 R17 and only made by Pirelli, they say they don't intend making anymore, so hopefully another manufacturer will introduce something suitable, My car/truck/tank or whatever is fitted with 315/70 BF Goodridge and they catch on the left hand firewall, so I have just managed to pick up a full set of new Pirelli Scorpion's having the rims re-furbished, then I will fit them, mine is licensed light commercial!!!! although the spec says the tank is 290ltr, it will only take about 210ltr, so you might get 250kms on a tank, about the same as a heavy truck!!!!

It might make sense to get different wheels machined so you can fit modern tyres of your choice. Obviously this would be cheaper if you ordered in bulk for a group buy. There must be a club or forum for these. Although probably a rather small and quiet one!

What tyres do Hummers use?

I guess there are more Hummers in existence so supply likely to be more reliable, assuming size is suitable and cost of bespoke wheels viable(?)

This thread on FerrariChat says Pirelli were due to make a new batch of LM002 tyres back in 2012.

http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/lamborghinichat-c...

Did these get made? Has that batch now all sold out?

It says they were being distributed via Lamborghini so worth asking dealer to ask Santa'Agata if you haven't already.

Scorpions are silly money and the ones remade are not like the originals as no sand lip. Doubt any are left from 2012 run - recall someone had last set from factory a couple of years back

Rambo (the film) was made in 1982 so the film came first (LM built from 1986)

Tina Turner decided to swap the Lambo V12 for a Mercedes engine which seems a bit pointless

I picked up the LM at the weekend from the garage that did the MOT - my first proper drive. Well it's not one of those cars that shrinks around you!

Obviously being LHD makes things a bit more tricky but at least you sit high up. The steering is a bit vague as you'd expect and the ride is actually quite firm although the old tyres probably don't help. It is reasonably quick considering the weight although I'm sure you could watch the fuel gauge drop as the speedo rises! The gearbox is quite positive in action and the brakes are good. The clutch is HEAVY and would make a cross-town journey a bit tiring. Just waiting for the reg docs from DVLA then good to go.
