It got even weirder today, the CCTV showed them returning my sisters car and then taking another black KA from the car park the other KA has now turned up again in the car park, we don't know who it was but sister is putting note on windscreen asking the other owner to call and explaining we have cctv of all of it. The car was towed away by a Black Mitsubishi Warrior in the Runcorn area if anyone knows of such a vehicle ?

Police been useless they aren't interested now car been returned.

As for the comment on insurance increase being 'bull sh*', all I can repeat is what I've been told.

Mystery solved, finally spoke to other KA's owner, turns out she had given her key to a garage to come and pick the KA up as it had broken down, the key to the other owners KA also opened the locks of my sisters KA(but wouldn't start it) so they thought they had the right car, someone earlier suggested this but I thought as this an 07 KA surely they would of sorted that by now but no. Anyway the other owner came home and spotted the error, the garage had returned the car and thought they got away with it but obviously not, there going to sort the stereo for her.

Fixing the radio gets her back to where she was before the car was stolen.

I'd be pushing for a free service as way of an apology.

One day, in the far future, there will be thread with 2cv when he doesn't come across as a total throbber. I wonder if I'll be a grandad by then?

While I can see the logic in the thought process "key opens the door, car doesn't start, must be the one" - I would have hoped they'd have checked the plates...
