Fantastic, great to see the car with its disguise off, for me its the interior changes that are a big step forward. No doubt a taste of what is to come with the new Cayenne?? I'm in the market for a big 4/5 seat car but would need to be the V6 Diesel, look forward to the details being released. Panamera or Cayenne ??? what a choice? Has anyone owned both (current model) to be able to advise?

I like how this looks, though even the original has grown into its looks.

Bit baffled how it appears there is a bonnet underneath the bonnet. At what point should a manufacturer just extend the plastic covers to reach the bonnet shutlines?

I think Porsche has done a great job with the look of the car however, not having been a previous Panamera customer, am I the only person who's taken aback by the price?

I am certain there have been steep price rises. There has never been a Diesel S variant however but the current non S cars started at about 65 and were not 4WD but if you take the 911 range as a blueprint there is a 10 grand jump between non S and S and a further 5 grand to make it into a 4S but even so there is a jump in the pricing.

However, I do have a sneaking suspicion that Porsche are actually going to change tack a little bit and be a lot more generous with the standard equipment. I think all of those big screens in the binnacle and dash are going to come with nav, bluetooth and internet connectivity as standard which are all things they would currently make you pay for. So whilst there has been a 10K-ishhh price rise (going by my 911 comparison, which is shaky at best admittedly) the bottom line price rise may not be so much.

And ey' If I am completely wrong and still have to pay for every option at least you won't have a load of blank buttons by the gearstick you just get black glass, which will never get fingerprints on it cos you've got no optional extras to turn on and off.

For desire it needs to look right, this looks absolutely awful. Terrible proportions. You have to be a Porcshe lover to want one.

Side view is still awful however the front and rear looks good.

The proportions just don't seem to work though, I think it needs a more 'cab forward' look, not the 'dog doing a squat' that it currently has.

I really don't like the wheels either. Porsche has some great wheels but these are not them.

The only major problem with the last one was the looks.

In my opinion, this issue seems to have been sorted fairly conclusively.

Fugly duckling has had a makeover.
yes

Sums up my view.

Porsche release flattering photos of car that essentially looks identical to the car it replaces. People say it's amazing.

Just looks like a big, ugly, horrid thing to me. Burn them all. Waste of fking time an energy.

To me it looks very much as though they have made significant improvements to the appearance of the rear end of the car. If you look at the side view of the old car and any view of the rear, the new one is much better.

Its still got that stretched 911 thing going on though, and i suspect the only reason im not sitting here dry heaving at the sight of the pics is that ive seen the previous one enough to get somewhat used to it.

Id have quite literally anything else in the segment, 640GC, Quattroporte (Ghibli?), S7?

I am shuddering at the servicing costs and what happens when something goes wrong. Much improved looks but where can you use the performance, certainly not in Germany these days.

Eye of the beholder and all that, but "gorgeous" is a bit of a stretch...

Very dissapointing to look at, may be capable but to really enjoy waaaay too big and unwielding, like all these super uber power luxo barges
not my cup of tea
Super salloon in "too big unwielding" shocker hehe

Personally I think it should have looked more like the shooting brake from the rear:-

I wouldn't go that far, but its definitely considerably less ugly than the old one. Will be interesting to see what happens to the value of the old ones now that this has arrived, will be some bargains to be had for those who can live with the looks.

There is no doubt that this will be a properly engineered car ... it has a look of it's own and although I have never driven one a professional racing driver friend of mine said they are a cut above everything else ... being a British website we will no doubt be told some Jag is 10 times better but they simply aren't.
