You think some VW's ride high, have you seen my Polo!
You can fit a clenched fist in the rear wheel arch!
That said I'm just going to leave it as it rides well over bumps and I'm not into the whole "dub" thing.
Good man. There's a lot to be said for that old but useful thing called, suspension travel You can fit a clenched fist in the rear wheel arch!

Well you have a "Dub" so it's technically too late for that. Lowering a VW doesn't mean you're part of all that. It doesn't have to be slammed on the deck. You can fit a clenched fist in the rear wheel arch!

I guess, but as a VW fan, I never found any love for the Rocco! The R isn't as bad with it's butch-er bumpers and twin pipes, but I dunno, the side and rear profiles just don't do anything for me.
Crazy arch gaps must be a VW coupe thing because immigrants could hide in the Corrado's, whereas the MK5 GTI has a really good factory ride height imo.
Some people love them, others hate them. I'm a big VW fan and i think it's one of the best looking car's they have ever made. A very decent remake of the classic ones. I wanted one as soon as they came out. It is basically just a Golf but better looking. For me though, that's ideal for a daily driver.Crazy arch gaps must be a VW coupe thing because immigrants could hide in the Corrado's, whereas the MK5 GTI has a really good factory ride height imo.

Yeah those scirocco are lovely. I know someone that recently got a GTS and when he said how much he paid I was like woops...
You are definately paying for those looks. We both have VW's l, I have 2 more doors and am much faster but he paid more lol
Much faster? the pre facelift TSI with 200bhp clocked 6.2 secs 0-62 in a magazine test a few years ago so I imagine the GTS to be even faster. You are definately paying for those looks. We both have VW's l, I have 2 more doors and am much faster but he paid more lol
I'm unsure which VW it is you're driving which is much quicker as neither the UP or Polo are 'much faster' ... they're likely to both be slower.

They need lowering. They are so high as standard. The arch gap is just ridiculous. I put H&R 35mm springs on mine which is how they should look leaving the factory. Looks way more mean and squat.
How did you find the ride after fitting the springs? A 2.0tsi Roc is favourite for my next car as I wanted someone quick with a reasonable ride and i must admit the arch gap is ridiculous!HJMS123 said:

Firmer but not that noticeable if i'm honest. Definitely not crashy or anything. I was worried tbh as at the same time i upgraded from 17" wheels to 18" R replica one's so potentially a double whammy. Definitely worth it though.Mine was only the 1.4 TSI 122bhp model which was all looks but no go. Want a 2.0 TSI/ R at some point in the future.

Nothing come close imo! I personally prefer them in white or the metallic blue though
Mine!I think they're pretty and unusual looking (in a good way).
Had a DC5 a few years ago. Think that might be the best looking hatch of all time in my view.
ETA: assuming it's OK to post those photos given the Scirocco discussion above.

Yeah sometimes unusual can be appealing, but some folk say the same of this hideous monstrosity! I never 'got' the SZ tbh. Probably going a bit OT now
True. 6'8 MINI owner here, and they always laugh at me when I'm paying for petrol
I saw an Abarth in a really nice matt/battleship grey the other day
Actually, just seen you have a GP too Roystinho. Have you driven an Abarth yet? How do they compare?

That is a very nice looking abarth. I've always thought they looked good. However, as a 6 foot man I can't drive one without looking like this.Lighting doesn't help, but a pic from it's PDI yesterday
