Interesting how no-one 'pulled up' the poster that mentioned the Strada Abarth either.....despite it being no faster
The Strada Abarth, one mother of a motor.
I could go quite fast on my Raleigh Arena back then as well.
The Releigh Arena, one mother of a bike.
It was no Grifter XL though.....or Raleigh Bomber for that matter.

750bhp ES Motors 997.2 Turbo was fairly rapid.. Thought my ribs were going to break. 100mph in under 6 seconds does things to you!

Other than that.. the AMG GT S shifts!

Dampers aren't fitted there. It was SVA'able but it pretty much went straight to a new owner so I don't think it got put through in the end, just used for racing.

Driven:
Gumpert Apollo, felt super quick with the sequential gearbox and a massive kick in the back when the turbos kick in, I loved it. smile
Pagani Zonda, very quick but did not feel as quick or crazy as the Gumpert, more of a normal car and I liked it a lot.
Kenigsegg, felt quick but did not really float my boat compared to the above.
Spiker, not very impressed, felt slower than I expected and apart from the interior, I would rather have most TVRs.
Nissan GTR, very quick but only fun when driven like a loony.
Ferrari F430, not quite as fast as the above but felt like a big go-kart and was loads of fun even at normal speeds.
Tesla Model S P90D with ludicrous mode, fabulous car and super quick at normal road speeds, less so at very high speeds.

Passenger:

Race prepared TVR Tuscan round Knockhill, very quick and huge grip in the corners.

Driven-

1970 Plymouth Barracuda, approximately 1200bhp from a supercharged big block running on nitromethane and the transmission was a lenco pro street transmission. (friends uncle's car, drove it around the neighbourhood lol)

2015 Cadillac CTS-V that had a different supercharger pulley, exhaust and was remapped, approximately 500+ BHP at the wheels. That was a friends car and I was able to drive it like it was meant to be driven ha.

We need to hear more about the Apollo!
I drove the blue UK demonstrator (the same one Hammond drove) at RAF Leuchars in Fife, it was an event called RAF vs Rio and it was for charity. We all got to drive the Gumpert, Zonda, Koenigsegg and Spiker down a taxiway, some people paid extra to race the Tornados but I did not do that.
There was a big double dip in the taxiway where another one crossed over so we where not allowed to keep it at full throttle for very long but I still got the Gumpert up to an indicated 300kph. The Gumpert was very unrefined with lots of strange noises and rattles when manoeuvring at slow speed but the acceleration and power delivery where incredible, a massive kick in the back when the turbos spool up, it is the only car that made me swear when I gave it full throttle in second, the sequential shift was great and it was my favourite car of the day. I imagine that it would be a major handful on the road but it was great fun on the open airfield.

Passenger - Audi quattro sport (the 80's one) - bent my mind when I was young. Still has a soft spot in my heart
Driven - Audi S8 - ok, not mind bending, but a real surprise how it went with 4WD.
Passenger - Range Rover Sport Supercharged - modified and well driven (way better than I can), reset my expectations!
Watched - Ariel Atom supercharged - was doing a track day at the same time as I was - sheesh, that thing just left me for dust!!!
Passenger - 308 GTi6 - driver training, impressive car but getting a touring car driver to show you want they can do, amazing!
Driven - Tesla Model S - OMG! Everyone has superlatives for them, they are all true! Drove the 4WD model, stunning!

Circa 380bhp Sapphire Cosworth 4x4
Fibreglass, space-framed Mini Clubman with 2.0 Vauxhall Red Top. Only had a brief ride but completely mental thumbup
A tuned import only Impreza WRX STI Spec "C". Definitely the fastest point to point car I've ever been in (It's essentially a Group N rally car), with such huge torque that it had the ability to blitz out of corners corners like they didn't exist.

I do appreciate that I was very lucky to be able to drive four such fantastic cars one after another and be able to compare them. I had just changed jobs and my new boss paid for it as a thank you to me for coming to work for him. smile

Isn't the engine in the Gumpert the C5 RS6 unit which is breathed upon.
