So what would you propose as a solution? That Ferrari should never have built it just so ego maniacs are deprived of the chance to own one? Jesus.

Can't we just celebrate the fact that some of the brightest minds on the planet came up with the design and then actually made this car?

On the basis of your logic, we could say that most super valuable art (for example) is owned by ego maniacs. Should we then destroy it all just so they are deprived of the chance to Lord it over everyone else? I don't need to own a LaFerrari (or any valuable art) to appreciate it for what it is.

Did I say anything about the car? Did I say it shouldn't be built or that it should be destroyed? Did I say Ferrari shouldn't build it? Did I say the world was a worst place for it? Nope. None of that, you jumped in with those words.

I'm just reflecting the opinion that the some/many of the owners of these cars, the target market, are not normal people. Arab oil princes, organised crime bosses, Russian oligarchs, son in laws of F1 owners, people like the guy that puts 11000 people out of work whilst taking millions in wages for doing nothing, guys that save hundreds of millions in tax by putting everything in the wife's name, people that own multiple super yachts, massively overpaid footballers, CEOs that make 40,000 people redundant to achieve their bonus targets. Chinese industrialists that don't care that thousands of employees work themselves to death assembling junk for westerners that they could never afford to own themselves.....

I dont think you'd see the likes Branson, Gates, Musk or Zukerberg owning these cars despite their wealth. Because they aren't ego maniacs that have to have the most exclusive available. And I also didn't say ALL owners either.

Chip? No, I don't think saying something that if you think hard enough about it is probably accurate warrants a chip.

It looks like the coupe - so it'll have some flattering angles, but in the flesh there's just a whole lot of nothing from the back of the door to the rear wheel arch. It'll be very good I'm sure.

The bitterness people show though.. I think as a country we need to get over our little-man problem.

Musk isn't an ego maniac? Gates isn't? Are you having a laugh mate?

When did I mention anything about a chip?

I'm fairly sure that the brightest minds on the planet are put to better use than designing hyper cars for a very small minority...

Yeah, it's flashy, but money doesn't buy taste.
It does, however buy the ability to show off noisily.

You could do that any pre-1970s muscle car, though. A lot more cheaply.

If it has to be a Ferrari, 412 for me, please.
Simply because it would slip under most people's radar.
In a way that the LaLa Aperta never could.

not ugly, but too much of a squashed 458 spider for me. As a coupe the roof line helps to create a coherent- and distinctive shape, now the design is lacking in my opinion.

Let's be honest. A large proportion of the people that will own this level of car is likly to be an utter tt of a human being, the kind of megalomaniac that cares nothing about the many people that work themselves to deaths door on piss poor wages, or the kind of person that gambles with other people's money and hedges misfortune and makes money from or causes financial disaster. Or fails to performe for their national side.....

A lotto win doesn't buy you this level of car. You need to rape a third world countries oil and gas resources.

Ego maniacs car.
Jesus christ, do you want some sauce for that chip?!!
He is right however.

To get close to being a first owner the amount of money you would need to line Ferrari's hands with must be phenomenonal. A Motor YouTuber tried to calculateculate the cost and it ran close to 15 million dollars..... (he owns a few nice cars so has a much better idea than me on these things I'd presume)
Well Gordon Ramsay is getting one and at least one PH'er too that I have seen. Both probably not close to being billionaires.

I doubt everyone who gets one is a massive tt either.

Maybe not. But we're running at 50% on the available data.

A PHer has one of these on order and is a very nice, down to earth, self made man. Young, too. Gordon Ramsey is self made too, and actually a very nice man despite his telly persona.

But don't let that get in the way of your rant.

Did I mention Gordon Ramsey, or even imply him? Or did I say "large proportion of" "not all"? Of course some owners will be very nice people. But that's covered by the 'large proportion of' comment again, isn't it?

I'm sure Gordon is a very nice man and treats all people the same. I've never met him.

Although he does come across as a bit of a tw*t on the tele. But again, I never mentioned him, did I?
