You can't blame the young (I was the same, I'm sure), but the comfort is that you know that if they live long enough, they'll understand. Bless 'em.

Isn't one of the primary purposes of hot hatches to be able to overtake (any age) people in "sensible, boring saloons" hehe

A good old chap I know who has always liked his cars had at least 8 MX-5 between his 70th and 80th birthdays. Now nearly 82 he's decided he needs something a bit more sensible as his wife struggles to get in the MX-5 - so he bought a new Audi TT ! He can drive too.

I've bought a Fiat Panda 100hp a couple of months ago, I'm of a physical age of 50 years but a mental age of a whole lot less lol. The 'lil panda puts a big grin on my face every time I thrash it.

In the US about 6 years ago, I was doing the legal 55mph on the I30 in York PA (I get paid for travel time so why rush smile ).
I notice a lovely Maserati Grandturismo coming along side and smiled as I glanced at the driver.
A beautiful high 70's lady who glanced back and gave me a friendly acknowledging smile. Very classy lady.

bought this at 48,

bought this at 51,

resprayed at 56,

When asked how he felt about turning 100 George Burns replied;

Arty or a couple of beers after a hard days cleaning.

Sober one as I had to drive home.

I bought this when I retired at 58

and this was our garage when we both were in our 60s

Many things may stop me driving (fast) eventually but it won't just be my age smile

A Lotus 11 and a speed boat with wheels (so you can drive to the pub, or onto a beach etc...)
Boats I don't know much about, thing looks pretty useful though. But the 11 -- wow! Very nice treat to give oneself for a 70th. Much respect -- and thanks wink.

48 this year and never enjoyed a car so much as my Mk5 Pirelli. Modified and owned for longer than I have ever owned a car. cloud9
