Some people's definition of 'old' really needs examining. I'm 66 and nowhere near 'old' yet.

34 yrs old, Mini JCW GP, no regrets. I've gone the opposite direction with things, last car was a mini coupe SD ( brilliant little car) , before that I had a e92 3 series, 2000 CLK (just bad), 98 XJ sport v8 (sheds tear) then a polo!

As much as I enjoyed rear wheel drive ( and I really did) there's something a bit more challenging/rewarding with a fwd pocket rocket that I've come to love. I wonder if I'll still have it at 40!
40, Mini Cooper S Coupe, I really need to grow up and get a... actually no... I fancy an F56 JCW next.

(I had an old man spec Skoda Superb DSG diesel, lovely car, but boring, and reminded me of my grandad's Rover 2200.)

According to my other half, no man past 30 should drive anything with spoilers, loud exhausts or big stickers. biggrin
mine called me an utter child when she saw the aero pack on mine lol
I got the same treatment when I put my pistonheads sticker in the window.

Many moons ago my mother bought a Saxo VTS because she liked the colour (the blue they all are). Cue all the local cap-wearing teens getting rid of their 1.4/VTR Saxos!

My mother had a 1.0 Suzuki SA310 (B reg swift) and it got written off. She only drives Suzuki and wanted another Swift so the local dealer managed to sell her a 1.3 GS which was the luke warm version of the day. My father took a huff that his Fiat Panda wasn't as fast so went out and bought a Swift GTi complete with go faster stripes. he was mid 50's. Must be where I get it from biggrin

I took my 75 year-old Dad to the Fiat dealer on Saturday. We test-drove a brand new Abarth 595 and he bought it there and then.

I'm just about hitting 50 and often take the wife's 1M or Cooper S out for a run.

The odd petrol head gives me the thumbs up or a nod of approval. Nobody else bats an eyelid.

Go out in my Z4 however and I am a complete tosser rolleyes

Don't think it's an age thing to be fair paperbag

When I lived in Coventry a number of years back I used to frequently see an elderly gentleman (I'd guess late 60's) driving around in his brand new cup packed Clio 182 in liquid yellow.

Always thought fair play to him.

My dad at over 70 (petrol head for life) bought his Focus RS when they first came out.

Loves his driving and drives very very well.

It's always cracking to look out the window and see him arrive in it when he is visiting.

This sits in the stable with his Mondeo ST220.

There used to be an old man (70's / 80's) driving around in a bright red Lotus Elise, complete with a 2 digit number plate (1 letter & 1 number).

Should I buy the new 208 GTI or a VW scirocco R or a boring old man car

Age 56.
On my second Fiesta ST.
Supercharged Mustang GT in the garage
Honda MSX125 in the conservatory.

I was told the Fiesta was a bit "boy-racerish" but it's just a turbo hatch that does everything exceptionally well.
Now 60 and on my 3rd Fiesta ST but now with Mountune, still have the Mustang and the MSX125 went in favour of a Suzuki SV650S.

Back in the 90's, my dad used to go see his dad in a care home each sunday afternoon. He would often take my CRX V-Tec without asking me (I didn't mind, I thought it was cool he wanted to use it).
Once, one of my female friends said they saw my dad on one of the sundays, 'He was also wearing your cap', she told me...

I'm 45 next week and have an M135i. I don't wear a baseball cap and haven't put a stupidly loud exhaust on it. Yet...
