When they smile, it’s probably because you remind them of much loved relative (Dad/Grandad)

My mate bought himself a Hayabusa for his 60th, he had gone to slower bikes but found them too dull.

Just buy what you like!

I'm 45 next week and have an M135i. I don't wear a baseball cap and haven't put a stupidly loud exhaust on it. Yet...
M135i.M140i is a grandad wagon !

Not that firm suspension, lovely auto box, not to big to park, old school six cylinder engine and Werthers holders in the centre console !

46 in September and drive a Mini Cooper S, the Mrs hates it but I love it because it makes me drive like a 17 year old again! driving

With hindsight now I wish I'd have gone for a proper Hot Hatch(205 GTi/5 GT Turbo etc) when I was younger, but I always preferred bigger cars back then for some reason.

I'd better not tell that to one of the ladies I worked with until I retired a couple of months ago biggrin

She has an M140i and likes to drive it properly!

Me, I've just swapped a 160 horse Insipid diesel for 300 horses of XE, and driving is much more fun now, especially as I don't have to sit in rush hour traffic any more hehe

You missed out the straw hat on the parcel shelf and cushions in the back.

Too full of youngsters this place!
My son’s birthday yesterday. At mid-thirties, he said he is dreading approaching middle-age. My wife laughed. Middle age starts at 60 now, she told him.

This is a fun thread and what today's youngsters forget is that the people now in their 60 and 70s grew up in the era of Led Zeppelin, Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath, et all, plus mods, rockers, fights on Brighton sea front on bank holiday Mondays and the era of football violence and pre-segregated crowds on terraces. Lively times and livelier music than today's Ed Sheeran generation are listening to....So hardly any surprise that they aren't going quietly as pensioners and why should they?!

Me, I'm a mere 50 year old and find myself more and more attracted to cars that have a certain boy racer taint. Currently scanning EP3 Civic Type Rs in Ebay, or cheap Saxo VTRs..... I won't grow up.....

Well, I'm 70...

Last week:

2015:

2010:

2008:

2006:

Older stuff on slides somewhere...but the age thing is a matter of perspective. I continue to do what I have always done and will add a 992RS when I comes out and use it for what it was designed...
Have stopped selling cars though. I still have the 991 and the 997RS and the Pana Turbo is fairly new.

My Dad bought himself a 6 month old Golf R in lapiz blue as a retirement present - ironically just before I got my osmium grey Volvo S90 on lease!

Fortunately I'm on his insurance so I don't always have to fulfil the old man role...

My 82 year old dad drives a Mk II GTi. I wouldn't drive it. He spilled a load of gearbox oil in the boot years ago and it bloody stinks.

I'm 70 and my daily driver is a mk 5 Golf Gti, in red of course.
It has a Milltek exhaust which makes a lovely noise, and I drive it how it should be driven - for enjoyment !

My 65yo mum drives a 2014 Golf GTI cabby... i suppose that's more of a warm hatch by modern standards.

Funny this thread should pop up.

Just yesterday I saw an old lady driving a new Civic Type R through my local town. She looked so out of place in it. Fair play if it was hers, no need to conform with stereotypes! I think the new CTR is an awesome bit of kit, but not something you would expect a 70+ year old lady to want!

Encountered an elderly lady in our local Waitrose car park a couple of times recently, in her pristine EP3 CTR. Looked absolutely immaculate. Wondering whether its ever reached vtec.
