I worked on a project with a chap in his early 80's. Drove an Impreza STI. He'd had it tweaked by Litchfield because 'it didn't have enough poke'.

On the way home from work until fairly recently I used to regularly see a woman who was clearly in her 60's in L1 at the speed limit driving a Clio 200.
We know, you told us 3 years go on page 1! wink

Funny this thread should pop up.

Just yesterday I saw an old lady driving a new Civic Type R through my local town. She looked so out of place in it. Fair play if it was hers, no need to conform with stereotypes! I think the new CTR is an awesome bit of kit, but not something you would expect a 70+ year old lady to want!
Encountered an elderly lady in our local Waitrose car park a couple of times recently, in her pristine EP3 CTR. Looked absolutely immaculate. Wondering whether its ever reached vtec.
Yes, I've seen an old dear in a Civic Type R (FN2?). It's funny how strange it looks. Perhaps a petrol head, perhaps victim of a great Honda salesman, or just likes the way it looks!

The first ever mk5 Golf GTI I saw was being driven by a lady of between 75-85. There's also a M2 locally that's owned by a similar person.

I’m 42 and drive this. I always gets a thumbs up and lots of admirable glances.. And makes me grin like a Cheshire Cat when it’s on the right road or track..

Gordon Murray was 70 last month. Guess what he bought himself.
An old Mk1 Escort that he’s been having souped-up?

Not a hot hatch, but I used to live near a slightly-built old lady who drove round in an off-road prepared Shogun. Chunky tyres, lifted suspension, a row of lights on the roof.

Good for her!

Caterham is an anomaly, anyone can drive one but if you are old you have to wear a flying jacket and goggles. It's the rules!
A 7 is on my list. I'd wear flying goggles and a flat cap back-to-front but my wife tells me I'd look ridiculous.

Retirement approaches and my full list is:
Caterham (or preferably Lotus) 7
RS4
DB7 or Maserati Granturismo

And, of course, something to tinker with, probably an early Vixen.

Note to young blokes: when you get here you don't feel any older. Honest.

I am 70, and enjoy driving in North Wales each day. Next.

One evening way back in the late 90s, I was heading out of Uxbridge towards the M4 on the Stockley bypass when a green TVR Cerbera came barreling onto the roundabout from the opposite direction, held a beautiful drift for half a lap, and made a fast exit back the way it had come, leaving a couple of squiggly black lines as it did so.

I caught it up at the next set of lights where it was in a queue to turn left. As I passed, I looked across, and behind the wheel was a lady I would estimate at 60-something, wearing a tweed sporting jacket and black leather driving gloves.

It still makes me smile to this day. She was a hell of a driver.

That's not the first I've heard a story like that; A couple of members of the local Honda club bought their FN2's from Old dears that liked the looks!
