That is some cheap excess mileage charging - 0.06p, could drive it to the moon and back!
Precisely what I was thinking.

£6 extra over the term for an extra 10,000 miles.

Wonder what the paperwork says...

I guess that includes VAT?
The excess mileage charge shown in the graphic is different but still incredibly good value.

Surely we all know by now that when you ring up to place your order the answer will be "Sorry, we made a mistake"

It happens far, far too often.

Looking at new shape Tiguan TD1 150 SE Nav prices and they seem to be around £6k over 24 months/16k miles which compares well to the run out deals on the old shape with the same engine and similar Match Edition spec at just over £5k like for like. Not a shocking delta and I am pleasantly surprised how quickly the prices of the new car have come down.

Smart Fortwo Coupe 1.0 Passion 2dr

£70.64 per month inc VAT
3+23 term
10k pa
£239 admin fee

Works out about £86 per month all-in - cheapest 'car' lease I've ever come across.

https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing...

Yes, I know it's not a Golf R - shame on me. Yes, I know no one will admit to getting it.

Best point for me - 6.95m turning circle.

Three-point turns are a thing of the past.

As a runaround this looks incredibly good value. I haven't driven a smart for about 10 years - I'm guessing the auto gearbox is a lot better than it was?!

Looks likely to be genuine, its on the Alfa Romeo UK website, question is how many units they have available.

I think they were referring to the excess mileage charge.

So far we've seen 0.06ppm, 2.81ppm and now we've seen 6ppm from your link.

Who knows what it'll be.

5 year lease, high monthly rentals, over £18k over the term, relatively low mileage - madness.

We have just started looking into leasing a family car, possibly something like a Sportage. I have to say in just a couple of days of looking, I'm becoming increasingly exasperated by the number of online deals which aren't actually real.

As an example, I spotted a great Sportage deal on the Whatcar comparison site, only to be told by the garage concerned that the price has increased by £20 a month! And this is just one of 3 or 4 examples so far. Is this just the way it is or are there more reliable and up to date comparison sites I should be looking at?

www.contracthireandleasing.com is your best bet, but as with anything popular many companies have jumped on the leasing bandwagon and advertise fake headline deals to draw in the punters. Almost always with the "we only had 10 at that rate and they've all gone now" excuse.

But isn't there some kind of law against that kind of advertising? It's not like they're saying 'prices from £150 per month' - these prices are being quoted as fact and then, when you explore a little further, you realise it's all nonsense!

No chance. All part of the process unfortunately, easy to claim limited numbers, a change from manufacturer or simple typo.

Terrible. £3630 a year for only 6K miles.

http://www.stablevehiclecontracts.co.uk/volkswagen...

3+35 @ £218/month, so under £2800 a year for 10K miles.

For vans try Vanarama, Swiss Vans or Low Cost Vans.

I'd also speak to your local VW van centre and see what they can do for you

Looking for a smallish premium 4x4 for the wife.

Audi Q3/Q5 never seem to be on offer, BMW X3 no joy, not seen any RangeRover/LandRover variant that ever goes around the 20% LTV ratio.

Best we have found so far is a Merc GLA 200d coming in at:

£1835 deposit (+ £180 admin fee) + 23x £204 = £6707 giving amortised £280 per month.

https://www.gateway2lease.com/cars/mercedes/gla-cl...

Any recommendations for better deals on the GLA, or a similar car?

My advice would be ;

  • Be prepared to compromise on everything
  • A deal isn't a deal until the car is on your drive.
  • When you see something you wan't, get it. If you wait to save a tenner you'll miss out.
Remember, if you are trawling for the lowest price something has to be cut to get to that price. If you wan't a certain spec on a certain car go to a main dealer.
