Just a question regarding the Tiguans, I haven't driven one myself, but with 150bhp and almost 2tonnes do they go well enough?
The Ford Edge (albeit 100kg heavy) comes in @ 180 or 210 BHP
Tiguans TDI 150 are less than 1.5 tons. You're confusing with the Touareg, which is Edge's size/weight I think. The Ford Edge (albeit 100kg heavy) comes in @ 180 or 210 BHP
A Tiguan TDI 2wd 150 goes very well, I have the old one which is a bit heavier and pretty good powerwise for the intended use.

This is my concern also... at a claimed 9.3 seconds (dsg) to 60... I'm really worried that it will feel far too slow compared to my current Golf R!The Ford Edge (albeit 100kg heavy) comes in @ 180 or 210 BHP

Also just to say I tried last week the Tigan 150 R just purely out of interest as I was half tempted to sign up for the deal before it expired on Friday. It was absolutely excellent value for money, the car was pretty close to faultless in my opinion.however for me it wasn't quite exciting or interesting enough for my daily driver, I could just see myself getting bored within the first 6 months and then very frustrated until the end of the contract.
It's a mid-size family SUV - I don't think it's supposed to be exciting. Having R-Line etc SUVs seems a bit daft to me but plenty of people buy them.My missus has the old model 150 4Motion DSG and it's perfectly adequate for what it is. The 184 would be a bit more adequate of course.

Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
So I extended my Golf R lease for 6 months and it is due to go back at the end of Jan. The R is easily the best all round car I have had the pleasure of driving. But I need to be (a lot!) more sensible with my next lease choice so was very interested in the Tiguan R Line deals (how will I deal with the drop in power?!) - especially as VWFS have been very acommodating with my Golf R lease (50% discount on excess mileage after calling 1 year in, gave me the option to extend lease by 6 months or 12 months at decent monthlies).
Anyways, long story short - I played 3 VW dealership fleet depts (Listers vs Inchcape vs Jardine Motors) off against each other (all via email) and managed to get the Tiguan R Line 2.0 tdi BMT 150 4Motion DSG for £400 IR + £280 pm all inc VAT on 5k miles, excess mileage charge 7.2ppm = total £6,840 over the 2 years. This was with Lancaster VW Aylesbury & Milton Keynes (Jardine Motors). The guy did say that this price left them with very litlle profit and that he had to "get approval from his boss" to offer it.
Got the documentation through - all approved and signed for - looking at Dec/Jan delivery. Not looking forward to almost double the 0-60 speed vs the R but the spec in the Tiguan is awesome plus I love the way it looks.
Hope this helps for those looking at Tiguans - the deals are real!!
Wow! That's a truly remarkable deal. I've already got my Tiguan but I'm paying almost £900 more over the 24 month period. Well done! Long time lurker, first time poster.

Any chance you could email the details of your contacts to me, too? Plus an idea of what you wrote in your emails to the dealers? A couple of my friends love my Tiguan and could do with any tips you could supply to save them money.
Thanks!

Has anyone found any deals on the Seat Ateca SUV? Has raving reviews in the motoring presses but Seat seem quite unwilling to do any deals. Are they confident of high sales without having to resort to huge levels of leasing?
Got a price from my local dealership. 6x23 £222 pm for a se. Inc vat, servicing and maintenance. £6438. 1l petrol...
Test drove it and it actually felt alright. Don't know if I would have one though.
Problem is tiguan se nav has better spec for around the same price.

I've been really surprised at how quickly very good deals have come out on the Tiguan given that it is a new model, largely up against aged competitors and has done well in reviews. I guess it shows the issues with VW.I presume SEAT have a lower sales target anyway which they're hitting because Joe Public doesn't know/care they're VW in a slightly different dress.

It took VW a few mths to get going with Tiguan - some engine/powertrain options were months late - so it's probably too soon for deals on Ateca.

Plenty of lease deals on it. You will have to accept a VW badge though.SlimPollack said:

Correct, but none of them as good as Tiguan's... or trims / engines offered seem to be inferior. In other words, they're the same car so why not just get a Tiguan?

I did look at the SEAT Ateca and some engine/trim derivatives have garnered great reviews in the motoring presses. But once the R-line became available, there was no contest.
A few friends have expressed interest so I thought I'd put the question forward but, although there are deals out there, none of them are any good!

Fortunately, I did just that! Two weeks, a VW Tiguan leasee. Absolutely wonderful car and a pleasure to drive. Just returned from having it valeted and the owner of the place stood next to me, complimenting it and asking questions about it.
Who did you lease from if I can ask?If G2L then I may have some questions...

The engine is a little underpowered but not so much that it would cause an issue in day to day driving.

I went to Johnsons VW Birmingham. The deal I got wouldn't set the world on fire but it was decent enough - and I needed a car ASAP. £2600 upfront and £222/month for 23 months. R-line, no options but as solid white was difficult to come by, I had to pay extra for pearlescent black. Actually looks better than white does.

How many miles PA is this based on?The engine is a little underpowered but not so much that it would cause an issue in day to day driving.
