Any Reason you wouldnt get a Seat Leon Cupra 290 5 door instead? Admittedly i havent worked it out but at 6p per mile excess cant be far off
Miles per gallon. Don't particularly need 290bhp for my commute. Prefer the Octavia as a car for the job I will be using it for. I also think diesel cars are better for cruising at motorway speeds than petrol cars.

Any feedback on the deal?
Id argue that you do need 290bhp for the commute wink but fair play didnt know you were referring to the diesel version.

From VRS deals I have seen in past it doesnt look that bad. Just done bit of searching and you can get a 6+23 10k Miles p/a
£1561.92 initial payment £220 or 9+23 10k Miles p/a £2053.17 initial payment £188 so depending on the additional pence per mile you could save a little on the initial payment and monthly payment here if say 6-8p per mile. I guess simpsons dont charge a admin fee though so thatg would have to be taken into account also

Sorry, my mistake. I have added 2.0TDI to the post where I posted the deal.

The reason I like the idea of going through Simpsons is that I know the excess mileage charge will be 7.2p. The thing with some of the brokers is they add a bit of excess mileage on for themselves in my experience.

Will have to try and get a test drive booked in.

Any colour

Been quoted this by Simpsons Skoda. While the monthlies may seem a bit high to you 5k and 8k milers, this is typically the sort of money you are looking at when doing this sort of mileage. I have checked the 10k miles per annum offer and paying 30k worth of excess mileage at the end of the term, @7.2p per mile it works out the same.

Are there any better deals out there for something comparable to this?(Insignia is not comparable in my opinion). Would I be better going for a lower mileage and calling them 6 months in to let them know I am going to be doing more mileage than I thought to see if I can get a deal on the excess mileage like some have mentioned doing on here?
I would still be tempted to take the 10k deal in your case. It just gives yourself a little bit of extra protection in case your circumstances change meaning you end up doing less mileage, as in that case you obviously wouldn't get any kind of refund if you paid for 50k but only did 20k. Also a lot of people are finding that if you increase the mileage allowance midway through the contract VWFS will do it half price, i.e. 3p + VAT per mile.

That's good advice. While I am almost certain that I will do that mileage and maybe more the point about VWFS doing deals on the excess mileage is something I have considered. I guess it's better to take 10k and worst case just pay the normal excess that I was expecting to pay rather than go straight in at 25k per year.

There looks to be some good deals on the Seat Leon FR 1.8 with Tech Pack coming out,

https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing...

Not as stonking as the Cupra Blacks but the cheapest I have ever seen for this car and I have been checking regularly for quite a while now. Like the other Leon deals Met Paint is included also

Thanks Maccas, that definitely helps.

I have already confronted G2L whether they are having issues allocating the stock vehicles, but they told me this wasn't the case. Fine, but then why aren't they keeping their own promises of getting back to me?

The car is due to be delivered by the end of August, curious to see whether it will actually happen.
I've also ordered one of these for my wife, I had an email this afternoon saying "I have secured a vehicle for her. The vehicle is in stock, so as soon as all the paperwork has been completed we can look at booking delivery in with yourselves.

I will pass your file onto our customer services team, who will be in contact within the next 24-48 hours in regards to the next steps."

thanks for that.
they have quote a cashback so the initial payment is now 3100£... is that normal?
I was certainly quoted like that with old Tiguan but didn't dig into it as I ended up taking a PCP and then settling it immediately as the discount was so large - but of course that doesn't apply on the new one (yet).

ETA: Just looked back at the emails and basically it was pay the full initial payment to VWFS (£3000) and then the dealer would refund me £600 shortly after taking the car. Both dealers quoting offered the same deal and both had the same attitude that it was perfectly normal - I wanted them to just knock the £600 off but they acted like I was being silly.

The cashback deals work on the basis that the supplying dealer is offering you part of their commission to reduce the overall price of the car. It is independent of the vwfs terms, hence you pay the original amount to VWFS via direct debit, and the supplying garage rebate you out of their commission.

100% - go for the 10K deal. By "pre paying" for 50k you're stuffed if you do less. Anything could happen, change of job (planned or not), sickness, family things, all sorts and you may not do that 50K in two years. It doesn't take much time off to kill that planned mileage.

Especially as you've work out the pay-as-you-go-rate to be the same.

Thanks for letting me know. Yesterday afternoon I all of the sudden got the reg and VIN number of 'my' JCW from G2L, with a note that the customer services team will be in touch shortly, so all seems to be well after all. Haven't paid any fees as of yet either..

Thanks - I think at that point I hadn't realised that you don't pay a deposit with leasing.

I'm surprised dealers are offering cashback on new Tiguan already though. On a Tiguan specific forum I use, several people who have them on order are having delivery pushed back and those who want to order seem to be struggling to get any kind of a deal.

Are they leasing or PCP'ing?

I'd imagine discounts and "cashback" on retail (PCP/HP/Cash) sales would be few and far between just now

VWFS will adjust your monthlies down the way if you call part way into your deal and tell them you are doing less mileage. If carlsberg made finance companies.

In this instance where higher mileage is a known I would agree that it's best to do the calculations on charging it as excess rather than paying upfront

Just had the quote through from VW for amending the mileage on our Golf with 8 months to go. Works out at exactly 3.6p per extra mile including their admin charge.

Result.

My PM function isn't working yet, but I will keep you posted once I know more and get the paperwork. Until I receive the actual contract, something in me is still saying it's too good to be true (Mini JCW 3d Chili Pack, Metallic, Sat-Nav, Privacy Glass, 8K p/a, 9+23 for £198 inc VAT non-maintained)

That's amazing (is it plus VAT, most are quoted NET?). BMWFS won't budge from the 26p/mile + VAT on our M6GC CH.

Just as well we won't exceed the limit!

BMW's own Alphadrive leasing arm were doing JCW's at around £240/month (no upfront cost) earlier in the year, so the deal could be correct.

The person in this thread - miqt82 - is looking at leasing new Tiguan and seems to have been offered £700 cashback. Hence my surprise.
