Still keep up to date with this thread, but never have the time to post anything interesting!
Love the mucky GT3 and the Elan.
Thought I'd share that I recently had the opportunity to feature in an article for Drive Tribe, and the kind folk at Donington Park gave me exclusive use, for free, of the Heritage Loop. It's a very nostalgic area, as it was once part of the circuit and was where this happened back in the 1930s when the German cars came to visit:
Heres the article on the Alfa.

If anyone has something older with an interesting story, the chaps who put this article together and took the photos might be interested in featuring you. Heres their blog:

I feel like an arse but the first line of text is missing a word I think.
bookatrack rental Caterhams have been my main cars on track for the past few years (not that I get to do much). It's so hassle free to turn up, know that everything will work as it should, have somebody else worry about fuel, tyres, etc., and if anything stops working, they have spare cars. You don't even have to worry about scraping all of the gravel out afterwards, if you should happen to venture anywhere near the gravel traps, or so I've heard!

It's a shame that with their upgraded fleet the prices are getting ever steeper. But then again, for someone doing 2-3 track days per year, I can see how they're still probably cheaper than keeping a track car (let alone a R300'ish thing) if there is storage, MOT and road tax etc to pay. That would be me as I don't want a track-only car.Bad luck on the engine light, moose, hope it's nothing! Coil packs maybe? Just replaced mine but not sure if it was really necessary...

Ha, just reminded me, an early 928 rumbled past me on the way to the tube station this morning.
They look so low and small these days, even against stuff like Corsas. I remember them seeming like rather big cars back in the 80s!
