I'm probably a bit quick to dismiss the GT86 but it just doesn't do it for me sadly. Had a cracking drive in the 500 Abarth last night, they really are better (apart from the ride) than press has given them credit for, should probably just stick with it and put some decent suspension on and get a 2 wheeled toy for Sunday mornings but something Porsche/M3 shaped is nagging at me !
Would an M135 fit the bill? Near as damnit M3 performance but can do daily duties also.Any of you lot have friends working at dealers that get stonking deals on trade-ins?
A friend of mine works at the local BMW dealer and he managed to get a 130i on around 60k miles for £3500.
Insane value for money, a quick glance on autotrader has them generally starting at over £5k with a load more miles. Sounds the part too with a BMW performance exhaust and air box.

Today's £30k garage of automotive magic.

in theory it should but never entered my radar tbh, whilst I appreciate them for what they are I find them a tad bland, I also fancied going NA route ideally. It's really a 2nd car for the weekend, odd track day and Europe jaunt that can if needed do some daily duties, 2 seats are fine but an Elise will be just too compromised (Mrs also needs to be able to use it and she hasn't even gone near my existing Elise), I'd also like where possible lowish depreciation but accept running costs of an older car like the 987 etc. except for potential ruinous engine issues, all for under £15k.Patrick Bateman said:

Blimey - sounds like a cracking buy. Birds would be pedalling that for £9k, I'd have thought (assuming good condition and that it's not an auto...).A friend of mine works at the local BMW dealer and he managed to get a 130i on around 60k miles for £3500.

I liked mine a lot - it also had the BMWP exhaust, plus a Quaife LSD. But what it really needed was the Birds suspension upgrade to sort out the ride.

He did say he can see how folk can bin cars after going over a significant undulation in the road, feeling the rear really unsettle.I liked mine a lot - it also had the BMWP exhaust, plus a Quaife LSD. But what it really needed was the Birds suspension upgrade to sort out the ride.
Seems like the sort of thing that would benefit from regular 17's and SE suspension.

Loved Turbo R's ever since a friend of my dad's turned up to stay in his new oneAlso a big fan of that Blaupunkt, with its single CD cartridge slot. Think they hadn't figured out yet how to get in-dash CD players to load just the disc. Still have a few of those cartridges at home somewhere from when I had a BMW Bavaria-branded one

I thnk, but I may be wrong, that they need to throw more unnecessary styling at the front end...
It does feel as if no-one's allowed anymore to make cars with simple, clean styling. And waistlines must be as high as possible. There's almost no new cars these days with a low waistline and big glasshouse.
Having a bit of a lazy day watching youtube videos starting with the Carrera GT at the 'Ring posted by a few days ago then the one of the 991 GT3 following him which really demonstrates just how quick the GT is, then a few videos of the, let's say, less fortunate at the 'Ring.
From my 'research' it would seem that BMWs crash more than Porsches, Renault light units pop out very easily and motorcycle accidents are always uncomfortable viewing whenever a kerb is involved. Also physics can produce amusing effects.
Whilst some of the car drivers are idiotic and clearly asking for it and others are just either unlucky or a bit optimistic, this one, particularly due to the sound, the long shot and the way it sits there afterwards, really made me feel for the Alfa owner.

Oh my! That 75 is just perfect. Spot on, right there, perfect.
