Didn't know these give you the horn. I've always liked them until I saw one recently [well probably 5 years ago] with the soft top up. What is it about old cars with soft tops. They just look poor fitting, ill thought out and incapable of stopping anything smaller than a mouse from getting in.
That's why they have a hardtop. The system works fantastically well in practice!

I do like an R129. Alas, an itch never to be scratched methinks.

Bit late to the party on this one, but that looks superb! 4-dr, Avus, black leather, ambers, Contours = cloud9

R129s - car of champions.

LoH - yes A thousand times yes

Leins - Tasty isn't it? Vaguely suspicious of the relatively inexpensive asking price though...

Everybody needs to own a car with an electrically adjustable rear view mirror at least once.

Thought you'd set up a Porsche-only detailing company for a min.

I've cooled on it.

Lots of questions around resprays, refurbs and then being punted on. as well as can i live with 200bhp?!
As someone who knows what a smashed up Porsche looks like, the front driver's side bonnet/headlight/wing shutline needs checking from those pics.

And then buy it.

Good decision. Nice looking thing, but a triumph of preening, polishing and good photos.

If it needed as much respraying and refurbing as it's had, then it was a neglected scruffbag of a thing up until very recently. No reason to doubt the oily bits will be similarly affected.

All this talk of Z4s has really got me quite sad. As good as my MR2 is, it will never match the 'emotions' of the Z4s - particularly the Z4M (though the 3.0si was special to me in its own way)...

It's been very hard to think of a replacement for both the MR2 and the Z4. The MR2 because the way it drives is just insanely good, and the Z4 because it just looks so good (to me).

I keep considering the newer Z4, in 35is guise... My thinking is that it has the newer creature comforts which are nice, still a pretty quick motor, has a folding hard top, and will be reasonably cheap to run. (I keep lusting after Astons, but pretty sure I don't earn enough to run one!)
