thumbup I've never really been much of a Jag fan, except when it comes to the XJS. That XJR-S, or even better a Lister, would be rather nice!
I've got one and they are wonderful things.

Back to Hot Caymans or a home brewed Cayman R. If I got myself a vanilla Cayman S gen 2 and added some buckets, coil overs and ARB's is that it?

I'm not here - gutted. You chaps enjoy though! (Alternatively, 25th, the Sunday, is free for me)

Would've thought it will be pretty close. LSD? Perhaps aim for as basic spec as possible to keep the weight down (did the R get lighter doors to trim the weight a bit?).

All this talk of R's and tweaks, pah, back down to earth, new arrival-

Just had a grand spent on it at Motortune, not sure how big the seller's margin was...

Options include steering wheel, gear lever and folding roof. hehe

Did think the gearing was a bit long initially but it turns out it's probably the easiest car to heel and toe that I've driven. Combined with the fact that the engine feels just as at home at 6000rpm as it does at 3000rpm means you don't feel like you're killing it using 2nd all the time.

Heated seats and cruise control are the two that I'd really want. At least cruise control can be retrofitted.

Nope, no Porsche for me (yet). Waiting to see if they make a 718 GT4.

Ditch the silly ride height and air, and pinstripes, and belts, and I like that a lot.
So, basically make it a standard 840ci with nice seats and wheels...

Dont worry. Some people in here might have Porsches but dont consider themselves yet a true threadist - just casual observers.

Had nearly forgotten about those. Never seen one in the flesh, but remember a test BMWCar did back in the day against a 3.4 B3S and think they quite liked it. Not so sure about the whole "appreciating" thing though

As an aside, I visited Schnitzer Motorsport a number of years ago. Well worth seeing if you're down Munich way

Maybe the standard S will be good enough as is. And hopefully different enough to the 981 to warrant the extra car purchase. I'm hoping manual and the different rack will swing it. I've never driven a Cayman anyway. Test drives next.
