Am I the only threadist who has never owned/doesn't own a Porsche?
No.
You too.
Me neither. I'll get my coat.
Me neither. Would like to though.

A 944 or 928 has always appealed to me; the Beetles, less so.

I thought that. Very meh until I bought one. But the bug bites hard.

Yet owning another isn't appealing. There's a gut feeling, akin to me putting a car on its roof for the first time, of relief. It was thrilling and exciting and it didn't blow up and I got out unscathed. But I don't fancy doing it again, so let's leave it at that.

I get all that, but in terms of ticking something off I think I should find an Alfa with ruined bodywork and just get it mechanically 'so' before I ever need a Porsche.

Now... Having JUST spent a decent chunk over £20k on my S1, do I really need to spend another £12k on this? Well, it is yellow, so it'd match.

What do we think, threadists? The way I see it, I was looking at cars in the £35k-£40k region, so this is actually a cost-saving exercise... Maybe?

Elise looks good and nice spec, big miles but seems to have the right bits on and and as they say buy on condition with these, prices vary a lot but might be worth a call to Wayne at Essex Autosport for the low down, they good guys and helpful just don't ask them to do anything on it if your are in a hurry...

Blimey, better nick than any I owned.....

.....but i'm glad I tried them all out when they were small budget funsters. I remember my friend buying an RS1800 and the rest of us thinking it was crazy money at 5k ( over twice the price of an RS2000 ) hehe

He sold it after realising it wasn't any quicker/better to drive than a standard RS2000.......unless you had the money to exploit the full potential of the engine....catch 22 really. £2000 bought you a lot of Pinto tuning back then

Bit of a hankering for some Alfa V6 in life at some point and what better way than this ?

Perhaps not as good as pictures suggest but I thought these had gone way above £25k even if it needs a bit of work

SZs are a bit strange in terms of values, and I can only put it down to its more humble underpinnings. Never driven one, but if like a 75 (which I presume it is) then I suspect they're a fairly sorted steer. Laban fairly raved about driving them 25 years ago

Plus they look feckin superb IMO
