That's me now fitted Toyo Proxes T1 Sport's all round to the Boxster.

So far, so good - big improvement on ride comfort.

bks to the N-Rated tyre hoodoo bullst.
What have you changed from?

I had Conti on my 986 and found them very hard. I switched to Pirelli Rosso and they were a lot softer which I preferred. All N rated.

Changed from Bridgestone RE050A N-1's

It's transformed the car IMO.

I never get bored of telling people how important tyres are. Did I mention how important tyres....

So how long have you had it and how are you finding it? Always enjoy some good ole Boxster chit chat?

I've never driven a gen 2. Only had a quick go in a gen 1 3.2 in 2006. I fancy trying a Cayman in Gen 2. So is it your daily run about or should I say do you ever want to drive anything else?

If you're near the JLR factories then we're close.

Insane amount at £1.65m. Guess they are pretty confident in the market for a good while.
That's sterling too! Might be able to turn a quick buck overseas.

Give it ten years and I think the early kettle GTs will be at similar money too. At this pace, I can see a 996 RS being worth seven digits.

Which means that now might be the time to get into a 996 '3 or '2 (an itch I've yet to scratch) and just lock it away somewhere.

Of course, the world could end tomorrow, making our 993 GT worth about 100 quid in scrap.

There are 45 996 GT3s in the PH classifieds at the moment. Feels like a lot. Lots of people trying to cash their chips in?

Lotus nerds assemble. What are these like for wearing their miles? Looks to be a good price, despite the high mileage.

I'd only be doing c.1,000 miles a year in it.

I tried to buy a 996 RS in 2011/12. I had to take a punt on some shares to afford it at about £60k at the time.

Long story short, i didn't get my RS.
Every time I drive mine, I am reminded how right Porsche got it from the outset. The two - 996.1 CS K400 and 928 GTS 5-spd would always be the mainstay of my garage.

P.S. Do I feel like a right tool for not buying a W/R 996RS from OPC East London for £52k in Summer 2010 - you bet! Instead I bought E61 M5... Doh!
