At the weekend I saw an old-shape Mercedes SLK320 with A320 SLK on it. Not quite as good as the reasonably local 300SL with 300SL, of course.

Years ago, mid nineties, I was passed at speed on the M40 by a Diablo with the plate M1NGE.

I could only applaud, was surprised they released it tbh.

Also used to be a Renault 5 Gordini in Met Blue in Peak Distirct with the plate AMP15T, wasn't a cherished plate I don't think as the car would have been 78/79 release.

I'd recommend Primo or a DVLA auction. RegTransfers and the like massively inflate their prices.

I'd look on eBay auctions, some real bargains can be had.

I agree if you want random letters. If you want your exact initials however unless you get very lucky you'll just have to just pay proper money. I bought my three initials and two numbers over 20 years ago and paid what was a lot of money at the time but I've never regretted it, the plate still gives me pleasure all these years later, and I'd never sell it.

If you want something along the lines of your initials then RegTransfers, Beef or NewReg are options. The motoring section of the Sunday Times has plenty as well. As mentioned elsewhere, if you're not that bothered about matching specific letters then eBay is worth a look - and you might get lucky with the letters you're looking for. I believe MrReg on here (and possibly others) is also in the trade...

Saw this great single single plate on my way home from the Silverstone Classic last week on the M6. The plate definitely worth more than the car !!
