I presume your argument is that because the actual police get £40 from each SAC your view is that they want more people to go on them as they get SAC money whereas if it was points and fines they wouldn't get a penny right?
Baby you smart, you loyal, you grateful. I appreciate that. They are incentivised to buy as many scameras as possible since the ROI on these is something an average London investment banker would love to have in their portfolio. If the money went to central pot they wouldn't have a direct incentive to do it.

What's worse the incentive is to MAXIMISE THE PROFITS hence zero tolerance and maximum vigilantism. Even at 3am on a 5 mile stretch of straight road with no traffic around. Where a traffic officer could issue a warning scamera will issue an invoice.

CS Garth said:
If so doesn't this mean the police actually get money which they wouldn't otherwise to get to pay for, erm, I don't know, say more traffic officers/beat officers to deal with burglaries etc.
Which fairy tale does you live in me boay?

Instead of trotting out an argument about being sheep/don't understand which frankly is just a noise how about you set out:

1) What your actual argument is. They are "money making scams" isn't an argument, it's an unsupported statement.
2) How do you feel speeding offences be processed if the SAC were removed?
My argument was provided in the post above.
You don't understand these issues and I also suspect you struggle with much of life. I can only presume you have been clocked a few times by these cameras and this is personal.

Best of luck. Not just with this, I mean in life. You'll need it son.

Knobs.
Very much this. Sound like the sort of people who think getting a speeding ticket and having a few speed bumps put around town amounts to ALL-OUT WAR ON THE MOTORIST!!!! I say 'people', but I wouldn't be surprised to find that the ABD is basically just one saddo with a website.

I was about to say "and what a website it is," however, I see they've made it slightly more modern. They do still have a link to the legacy site, for some unknown reason.

WOOOOOOOAAAAH! I'm blown away how quickly you've analysed the situation. And what a judgemental tit you are.

PS Never had any speeding tickets nor been issued with warnings. Thank you very much.

PS2 How's the SAC business going? What are the post Brexit predictions, you think you'll still be doing as well?

Listen, take your time. Think about it. I know abstract and logical thinking isn't what's in anymore (the dumber we are the easier we are to control) but I keep my fingers crossed for you.

More surreal. So to understand you are now alleging:

1) I am in the business of selling these courses (I'm obviously not)
2) post Brexit my imaginary business will suffer?

Look let's agree to disagree. You think they are rubbish. 98 percent of the rest of pistonheads don't.

Weird how upset you got over that. Being good in a SAC doesn't make you a bad person. Chill.

PS can I see a back up for that "98%" claim please

Ad hominem yet again.

Do you actually have any counterarguments? Do you have anything to support your premise? I'm interested to know.

Trying to bring this thread back from the sniping.

Whether you agree of disagree with these Speed Awareness Courses the main truth is that the quality of driving on our roads is still very bad.

If the people who run these SAC's wish to come on to this thread and then say that they have a very narrow remit then I would say that if every working individual did that then the world would be a terrible place.

Obviously the direction has to come from the top. Unfortunately I think this will never happen. What we all need are proper courses to tackle all aspects of bad driving not just speeding.

It does strike me as amusing: person with low level of education wants educational courses to be banned. Not altogether surprising, though hehe

Indeed!

XBOX - I still really want to know about this supposed gambling system though...It sounds like a load of st to me but can the OP come back and prove me wrong??

XBOX360 - I've never been offered a SAC once and would happily take one rather than the million points I've collected over the years...

It's already been covered in this thread. The question you want to find an answer to is - why does the number of scameras increase when there is a direct incentive and contribution to the pot which funds scameras. And has there been instances in the past where scameras were funded directly, what happened during that time and what happened when that funding got taken away. It's basic logic.

Hahaha, dude. You forgot to call my a racist misogynistic swine. And then throw something else for a good measure. I'm sure you can reach another good conclusion based on nothing.

When you boil that argument down you end up with "remove {method of detecting crime} and we can get rid of {punishment}". If we get rid of all the coppers then we can burgle, rape and murder to our hearts' content - it's exactly the same principle. You don't have to like it but exceeding a statutory (the clue's in the name) speed limit is an offence and an offence carries a punishment. Deal with it. You say you haven't been caught yet - so where's the issue? I've been caught twice (one court appearance, one SAC), paid out about £250 and I don't care in the slightest - I broke the limit, I got punished. You know what? I don't whinge about something I am in control of, I can hold my hands up and say, "yep, I fked up - mea culpa."

I was going to call you a whinging lefty/socialist/communist, because you sound like an entitled special snowflake. If you don't like someone making money then get the fk out of capitalism. I hear North Korea is nice this time of year.

Yes yes I admit it. I run hundreds of these courses a week and am absolutely fastidious about patrolling the Internet ready to talk down anyone who tells it like it is and risks my livelihood through the power of fact and truth.

I and the other alien lizards also spend significant amounts of time patrolling forums discrediting people who rightly point out that vapour trails are gas used to suppress humanoids. I also have a mandate to ensure that small engined cars are perceived as sluggish at motorway speeds and the Honda Accord tourer 2.4 is the answer to everyone's problems as my alien masters have a stockpile of them under the Houses of Parliament

The amount of hate deeps gets for telling it like it is is astounding. Doesn't surprise me since the sheep will be sheep but I'd at least hope for 1 sheep out of 10 to wake up and smell the coffee.
Thanks for restoring my faith in human nature Artey.

From the continued responses I can only assume that still very few people, if any, have actually taken the time to read the document linked, the points repeatedly being raised are covered in the document...

http://www.speed-awareness.org/Speed-Awareness-Cam...

I would copy and paste it to save people the trouble of clicking the link, but that doesn't work.
