Hi all, I've recently bought some roof bars for my 911 from eBay. Unfortunately the seller doesn't have the key.

I thought they might be made by Thule (the box is) but it doesn't have the N number on the lock core.

Has anyone had any success in a similar situation with opening the locks with a screwdriver? I'm worried that if I force it with a screwdriver I'll break the mounting and not be able to install a replacment.

Anyone have any words of wisdom? Thanks!

No joy picking the lock, or using the change key as a bump key.

However, was able to use a screwdriver to open it. Used the screwdriver to remove the core too.

Hope this helps someone else in the same situation.

Well, it should help anyone who wants to nick some roof bars off a 911.

Given the number of 911s around wearing roof bars, I won't be losing any sleep.

Those who are that way inclined already know. Besides most have a key code written on the lock so you can simply order the key.
