What's worse is BLACK interiors, god they are so so boring, why are people obsessed with them? Especially when you can spec white or cream etc.
I think the black interiors, especially black headlining, look great. Each to their own.

Two greys and one navy car owner here.

Edit: Although they were probably listed as "hue of blackbird belly" or "shades of speaker box" on the options list.
hehe

I think black headliner looks good but with the black seats and black plastic it's just so ZZZZZ

I think this looks much better

Of all people Craig David said it best in an interview once.

He was living in America and said he owns a convertible yellow Ferrari because in America you are proud of what you've achieved and want to show it off/stand out.

If it was in the UK it would have been a black coupe to blend in.

Mine is black, wasn't my choice though. I wanted the yellow S1 we had in the showroom but it would have cost me over £100 per month more because the spec on it.

The problem is that I wear jeans a hell of a lot. Cream leather and denim are NOT a good match.

Don't buy cheap jeans? I've had light coloured leather lots of times and never had any clothes leave dye or marks on the seats.

The situation is terrible if you're in the market for a used car. You can have any colour as long as it's silver, black, white or grey. Boring or what? It gets far worse the higher up the car scale you go. At least with used family cars there's a tiny bit more choice in colours.
Not always better with new ones. Looking at MX5 configurator, apart from red they offer an excellent choice of white, black and few sorts of grey. That's meant to be a sports car FFS!

£5 bottle of Gyeon leather sealant will sort that problem.

It depresses me how monochrome our roads are these days although I'm guilty of being a hypocrite with my Focus ST being in "stealth" (grey), I just didn't fancy any of the other colours after they discontinued Spirit Blue.

My incoming M140i is Estoril Blue though, with Oyster interior. And the wife's Mini is "Blazing Red" so we're doing our bit now biggrin

Quite the opposite, more expensive denim tends to leave colour. Raw, unsanforized stuff for example will transfer a lot of indigo.

I was bored on my way to Birmingham the other day and counted about 35 cars in a row before a colour turned up, and even that was burgundy which is hardly bright!

My BMW is Imola and I think it's brill smile

Well to balance it up I love odd coloured cars - favourite is a greens but they're so rare on anything other than a small hatchback or Focus RS. Currently got a black car but thats because it came along at the right price and time. The Mrs refused to buy a new HRV because the only colours they had were grey, white and black. Blue and red were an option but you'd be waiting ages for them as 'no one ever orders them' according to the salesman. So she bought a Jeep renegade in Omaha Orange with ski grey (with orange piping) interior with brown dash. Sounds horrid and the configurator doesn't do it favours but in the metal its quite handsome and very refreshing after the seas of black and grey.

I really pitty someone who picks a car like the renegade which is an unusual looking car anyway then chooses a dull colour! But I ahve seen a fair few white and grey ones frown

We looked at the cactus and the juke for the same reasons - interesting colours!

Speak for everyone else. I drive a bright yellow car everyday. Saying that it's the one that has the better resale value for my make/model so I get the bright colour and better resale.

My problem is I remember what it was like in the 70's.......even ordinary cars were loud colours. Our next door neighbours 1.6L Cortina estate was bright signal yellow....and that was far from uncommon.

A Ford-UK colour chart from 1980/81.....oh happy days!

Mmmm, Java Green. It never was, and never will be fashionable. And for that reason, it's an excellent colour.

Try buying a van!

There is no colour card.
Tend to see loads of red ones around...

My van is silver, that felt like a daring colour choice on a van at the time. Jeep is green, Civic is red, MX5 was an aqua green - I (rightly) got the piss ripped at every chance over that car and colour, didn't care in the slightest!

I'd say there are a few more colours around then a few years ago, red has definitely make a comeback and small bright cars seem a bit more common.

It's odd that car colours are going this way...

Yet for so many things these days companies are going out of their way to offer customization to customers. This, for example, is my bike:

I wasn't exactly short of options either, if I could think of it there was a manufacturer who had it pretty much off the shelf right here in the UK.

I don't think you should be allowed to buy a CTR, Focus RS etc in black, white or grey.

You should be able to choose from colours that set your eyes on fire, with the boring colours a £3k option

There are a lot of bright blues becoming popular - Audi, Merc, BMW, Ford.
