In Sydney, i'm seeing so many people on their phones at the lights having a go at catching Pokemon!

It should be 12 points on your license, a 3 year ban and a $5k fine.
Plus your phone is destroyed on the spot.

I was out for a run last night in my local park, and I saw people on Pokemon hunting dates. There were literally tens of couples walking around like zombies with their phones pointing at the ground, creeping towards an imaginary thing in which I had to dodge.

I love fitness so I've nothing against this, as it's getting lazy sts off of the sofa and outside for a walk. I plan to pitch my idea to Les Mills for Pokemon Bootcamp, 2hrs of intense military fitness whilst hunting Pokemon in a forrest.

My colleague has just come back from an unexpected week on leave (because he has just been told he is being made redundant, and so wanted to take the time off), and has a cracking suntan from being out every day playing pokemen and showed me his Fitbit tracker - he walked around 25-30km every day for 6 days playing this game.

He sure is fit and healthy. Normally he'd be in playing playstation.

why do people care that other people play something that they don't enjoy?

Because this is PH, where the demographic is heavily stilted toward middle-aged, middle class, NIMBY white males who long for the halcyon days of their youth which were so much better, despite objective proof that a 3 day working week, wall-to-wall industrial action, currency devaluations and cars made by *shudders* British Leyland were not better at all. smile

And unless your ideal car is sub-tonne, manual, rear-wheel drive, N/A, and costs 72pence you are an idiot

It's not the actual game that annoys me, it's the dipsts who become up utterly obsessed with these things to the exclusion everything else.

I am now regularly getting walked into by these idiots on the pavement.

The other night I was in a pub, the friend I was with had gone to the bar, and some young drunk lad sat at my table trying to show me some pokemon crap on his phone. I said I wasn't interested but he kept insisting I must be because I had a phone! I had to quite aggressively tell him to go away in the end because he wouldn't clear off.

You get children out with family, whining and moaning because they want to stop every 30 seconds and mess about with this crap.

As I say, it's not the game itself, it's the mass of plebs who become so utterly obsessed with it. Get a life.

Yep, play the game all you like, just don't bother me with it.
And driving while playing is definitely in the territory of bothering me.

When I was a kid I don't recall bumping into people in the street because I was playing Miner 2049er!

But as per the "What did you get up to" thread in The Lounge, it seems many people didn't mind running around irritating people by playing knock knock ginger in their streets, setting off fireworks/firecrackers and so forth, or leaving boxes of bricks in the road for other people to hit.

Driving and playing remains stupid though that's for sure

Using the term "sick" is a bit old fashioned by about 10 years, you either live in the sticks or are 40 years old

strange though

Hitting random fruit/candy in a completely pointless, talentless, uninspiring, dull, unchallenging, no brainer game is seen as ok

What should be a thread of everyone agreeing "Using your phone while driving under any circumstances is bad mmmkay" has really turned in to a gathering of miserable old fkers

As has been stated before, playing games are a thing. People have been doing it for many years and it is open to all ages not exclusive to kids so try not to get your knickers in a twist while you process that thought that someone your age (or older) may infact play pokemon, World of Warcraft or Call of Duty.
So just because you don't like it that doesn't make everyone a moron, try to lighten up a little yeah?

They're not saying liking it makes you a moron. They're saying wandering about like a fart in a trance
makes you a moron while walking, and a dangerous moron while driving.
