I'd always wondered why the car was called the "22B", now I know. biggrin
That's the wrong reason - 22B came from the engine 2.2litres and the B was a reference to the Bilstein shocks.
So the whole coding thing was coincidental? I think it has some part in it too.
I bet they didn't end up with a 2.2L displacement by accident.
Obviously, but maybe the name 22B has something to do with 555? They probably named it 22B after the code and made it stand for the displacement and shocks.

As mentioned earlier, 555 in decimal (base 10 and also what everyone knows as normal numbers) is 22B in hexadecimal (base 16, which is heavily used in computer coding). It is also 1000101011 in binary (base 2), 1053 in octal (base 8), 3A3 in duodecimal (base 12), 17F in base 20 etc. etc. Interestingly, it would be 10 in base 555.

I like numbers, sorry. And I've had a few - ok, ok, several - glasses of wine... Sadly, this is as interesting as my drunk posts get!

Wow, what a coincidence - 373 in base 10 is 10 in base 373! Spooky!

A 555 timer is an electronic component, an IC, that is very versatile and used everywhere, including in schools as a teaching aid. Millions of school projects have used them, and more than a few commercial products.

I think you'll find they named it 22B then had to find a sponsor with 555 as part of their name. True fact.
