Bought a property 7 months ago and the PDF of the estate agents brochure is still appearing online via rackcdn.com if I search the address.

Contacted estate agent to be told it isn't their problem.

I have no idea what rackcdn.com is. I am assuming it's some sort of cloud computing used to link the pdfs.

Any ideas?

ETA

I have found a local company that relists properties using the same and have contacted them.

Fingers crossed.

so, what's the actual issue that you are trying to address?

Indeed. The general maxim is that once something is on the internet, it's always on the internet. There's a difference between the particulars being cached on some CDN or third-party server somewhere, and it being actively marked on Rightmove, for instance.

In the former case, you're never going to be able to remove all traces of something once it's out there.

Not quite the same, but I'm pretty sure if you search for the property on Rightmove, any photos (interior or exterior) from the original advert stay available indefinitely, along with the sales prices.

The issue is if you search for sale on this road/area the brochure shows listed as for sale.

That in itself has caused a number of (albeit minor) issues already.

Some odd ball people out there.

are you sure it's rackcdn.com it's a domain associated with malware

are you sure it's not rackspace cdn?

either way it not something you have any rights over, it was a publicly shared advert, the only person who might have any right to enforce it's removal would be the copyright holder

If anyone is interested this has been resolved. The listing has been removed.

I have had a massive apology (no need really) and the third party property listing site involved has had it removed.

Apparently (according to them) they are legally responsible for ensuring that a house listed as "for sale" must have that status removed once it is sold or taken off the market.

Big thank you to the company who came forward and said "yes that's our fault sorry, we will sort it for you".

You think that's bad, search our house and a newspaper report comes up about a cocaine dealer trying to buy it with cash a few years ago!
