You know what else is great for hydration? A bottle of water.
What? You'd rather carry a tiny bottle of water instead of a funking great big water melon. That'll never catch on. Madness.
In fact, is there any fruit larger than a watermelon? She couldn't have picked a more ridiculous fruit if she tried

No no no the advice is all wrong. If I'm heading into a 14 hour jam I don't want to take on board liquids, I want to go the other way and try and avoid needing the toilet.
For this reason whenever I encounter static traffic I immediately eat an entire box of dates with some all bran on the side.

You have to be a bit of a retarded driver to go on a long journey and not have drinks and snacks. We're off on Monday Oop North and a 6 pack of water, assorted other drinks and a load of snacks will be packed too. It's just plain common sense isn't it? Why pay £2.00 for a 750ml bottle of water from WHSmith on the services when a modicum of planning will get you one for 85p?
