What do you want them to build?

At the end of the first week of the summer holidays, I cleaned the family bus at the weekend.
Ideally I'd like manufacturers to offer actual options, rather than which shade of grey / black carpet do you want. Having spent ages trying to clean sand out of carpets, I'd like something like vinyl flooring or rubber that I can just vacuum and then give a wipe down if required.
Same with seats. Our last two cars have had fabric which develops water marks if anything gets spilled on them, including rainwater that invetiably runs off the roof and through a window as they've stopped fitting proper gutters to cars. I don't want leather, just something that can withstand kids.
Again with the storage. 5 seat car, with 7 cup holders, but only 1 sunglass holder. We've got two glove boxes and a cubby hole in between them. A single large box would be better than three smaller boxes. Encourage people not to hold their phone in their hand when driving, by actually creating a space where it fits and doesn't shoot out when you go round the first corner.

Sounds like the OP requires a Mk3 MR2 roadster, it almost exactly meets all his criteria.

Basically like a Ford Crown Victoria with a more up to date engine, manual box and RHD.

I'm sure there was a near identical thread on this subject recently but can't find it. I'd like a simple car with an engine with decent performance. A sleeper essentially. Something that looks like a cooking model but goes like a performance one. And with as few toys, gizmos and st to go wrong as possible. No infotainment system, just knobs and switches.

What you've described there is a BMW E39. Loads of them about and cheap too.Something I would have liked to have them build ( probably in the past now but I'd still like one ) is a Mk1 Orion converted to rwd. Small by 3-box saloon standards but big enough for my needs, space to seat 4 (5 occasionally), pretty narrow for all types of roads, sunroof, ABS, power train from the Cosworth

Obviously weigh more than the original sub 900kg but about 1000-1025kg all in, fully trimmed. Performance with about 220bhp would be more than good enough. Look something like below and 35mpg cruising

If Mazda would get on and build an AWD 3 MPS, no bonnet scoop that would be great! And 320bhp...
My current car is now at 85,000 miles and I am definitely going to have to change it next year.
The 2.3 turbo in it is a great engine IMHO, and is one of the sweetest 4 pot lumps I've ever had. Gear change remains positive and notchy all these miles in.
So come on Mazda, get on with it!!!
