I'd go with the Alfa on this, bidding seems strong especially for a Cat C so who knows?
I think these...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-W-reg-Alfa-Romeo-Sp...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALFA-ROMEO-SPIDER-2-0-T-...

...have put a rose tint on the cat' C car. I'm the aggressive bidder. wink

I get a notification on my phone and bid again within seconds but I'm up to budget now and if some tosspot is using a bidding app' then I could lose it with seconds to go.

In conversation with the seller he's comes across as a top chap and wants me to win. smile

the question is, why are you even bidding on something hours/days ahead?
what's the point bidding days or hours before the actual auction ends just to drive the price up for yourself?

I just bid in the last 4-5secounds so no1 else has time left to react, or If I know I won't be at computer to bid I will place a sniper bid through one of the services and pay them few pennies so I don't have to monitor the auction myself.

I've found that if you place a bid early and contact the seller this shows intention and will. Also an opportunity to find out if the seller is genuine, knows what they are talking about, a trader or a waster of Oxygen. I have waited for auctions to end before placing a bid in the past and listings have been removed due to lack of activity.

So an early bid and few messages and this chap is a fellow Italian car nut. wink

Good, establish contact, if you get sniped and the winner backs out, the seller will come find you

As prices go up the number of Wheeler Dealer'd ones will as well so you need to be even more diligent to the point it won't be worth the effort and you get an MX5 powered MG Midget or B roadster. wink
I dropped mine off at Scuzzle today. They immediately commented how mint and original it was. It is easy to tell when you can see all the original spot welds. I've seen others with better paperwork (one owner from new) for less money, but were not 100% original (the sills were repaired at some point).

That's the idea.

Well I'm outbid but will wait until close to the end as I'm collecting the GT tomorrow.

If I don't win the Spider I have already decided to finish my Coupe. smile

I went over budget and was outbid with three seconds to go. £810

The seller sent me a message saying I have first refusal if he gets pillocked about. smile

So the Punto GT...

A bit rough but an absolute diamond. smile

the guy at first was looking for ''some topless fun'' , both the z3/alfa if in good condition /packed well and in good colour are really nice cars. How did he ended up looking at some old junk like that? Not that the z3/alfa is any newer but at least they still look decent enough..

the only way that punto will ever look good is if it's crushed/melted and made into a fridge or a toaster.

Well, fingers crossed for you on the spider then!

And that punto does look rough, but if its solid and the mechanicals are in order... proper job!

Because its 130-140hp in a very small and light car. It might look like st, and its not going to make the neighbours look through the curtains with envy, but itll be a hoot to belt around B-roads.

If anything, i think LK is to be applauded for not giving a toss about what other people might think at first sight of the car, and just going for a fun run around.

If you have to ask you'll never understand. hehe

The Punto was a happy accident I still have enough for a Spider and there's one almost the same colour as my GTV for sale twenty miles away. :P

You have a GTV as well? are you planning on opening up a used car lot specializing in italians?

Blimey, i need to get stuck in and get the house/garage in order for an italomotive project...
