Well bugger, now im researching what mods i can do to my lowly 1.6 engine...

So far ive found it apparently has pre-cats in the exhaust manifold which can be smashed out smash

Blimey, yes, now that does bring back awful memories - good shout.
hahahahaha that is absolutely horrible!!!!
what a great thread.
first vehicle of mine was a Morris Ital van in bright BT yellow as I was a drummer in a band. Fitted a 1 and 3/4 SU carb on it with the outside of the airbox cut away and a JANPSEED race manifold. For a 1.3 Ital engine.
Fitted square aftermarket fogs on the front and I loved it to bits.

£/BHP for tuning NA engines killed it.

It's utterly daft to spend money on small capacity engines to eek out 10bhp here or there.
Taking a head off a 4 cylinder DOHC engine, fitting new cams, working on the head itself, remapping it, fitting an exhaust and air filter will add about 30bhp and cost about £1,500!

£50 per 1 bhp.
let that sink in.

Most people stick an exhaust and airfilter on an NA and think it;s better, but the OEM ECU doesn't like it and just retards the timing.

In comparisson, a £10 bleed valve on a turbo engine can add 30bhp and not even need to see the inside of a garage to do so.

Body kits and wheel mods were such a vast waste of cash. Imagine all the engine tuning which could be done instead of £10k worth of plastic tat!

Haha, i paid €60 for a full set of 8 plugs, and they last 36K, no fancy twin-prong V-spark though hehe

And those must have been a bh to fit in a 33QV, did you have the 16v model? plugs is pretty much an engine out job on those isnt it?

I have 3 spoke Advans on my MR2. I think they are lovely. I know they are pretty polarising, but that suits me fine as it means they are usually cheap to buy!

The Super Advan is an all time classic, on the right car (jap of a certain age) can it be bettered?

I think we might have to disagree on that one wink

Also, as demonstrated in that pic, does anyone put wind-deflectors on cars anymore, either for the sunroof or front windows?
They're very popular on the e39 group on Facebook.

Yeah, I may have over sold it with the MR2 picture hehe . This is a more realistic example.

You should have used the notorious Carisma 911 - a monstrosity so noteworthy that it even had its own PH thread...
