I met Andy at a classic car show at the NEC, really nice guy and freely gave his time to talk about his car with pride.
Andy, I was the guy who asked about your car as it was once reported as being a Ventora and we had a discussion surrounding this. I had a Ventora in the olden days, 3.3 straight six and was fairly fast I thought. That said, a diesel 3 cyl polo would probably beat it today........
You said a few posts ago that it was a Victor and the grill suggests it was a VX490.......hows that for being anal haha.
Whichever way Andy, i hope you kick everyone's butts and regain the record.
One thing I do know is that the car is an absolute work of art and i cerianly wouldnt take it on at the lights, not even if i was on a rocket powered hyabusa!!
I agree its a pity that some on here can only rip others work to bits - wonder what they have achieved in life?
Thanks Tony, and i remember our chat. There's a bunch of us on our closed page that hope we do too!Andy, I was the guy who asked about your car as it was once reported as being a Ventora and we had a discussion surrounding this. If any of you do FB and would like to join our group, maybe even become members, then that page is here. https://www.facebook.com/groups/redvictor5secondcl...
There are some great people on there, and plenty of info from our tuner Shane Tecklenburg that doesn't get shared anywhere else.....

OK. Thanks, that's a straight answer, at least, albeit buried in a lot of caveats and obfuscation.
Call us back when you beat the Hennessey's 270mph and the Veryron's 264mph... both in cars that can actually, practically be driven on the road.
Can either of the cars mentioned do that speed in under 6 seconds? secondly the two speeds you mentioned are not official as neither met the conditions of the record they were going for, the official top speed for a production car is 257 by the veyron supersport.Call us back when you beat the Hennessey's 270mph and the Veryron's 264mph... both in cars that can actually, practically be driven on the road.

Std Veyron takes 55 seconds to reach 248.5 mph
(wickipedia)
Rv3 could give a veyron a 3 second head start and still beat it to the 1/4 mile.
If you were watching a 1/4 mile race between the 2 cars and they left at the same time, RV3 would be finished just as the Veyron was a 1/3 of the way down the track.(wickipedia)

Horses for courses i know, but just an indication of how fast RV3 accelerates from a standstill, and is still able to drive on the road.

Top Fuelers run over a shorter distance 305 metres vs the old 400, so not 100 percent comparable, the old 1/4 records were like 4.5, so anything in the 5's for a quarter by a road legal car is amazing.
Im not 100% sure it takes 1 second to do 95 metres when your travelling at 350mph. lolGassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
