Such a waste... It would have really upset me seeing that.

I was so upset I cried all the way home. With anger. How dare she? How very dare she? Damn her to hell.

Etc. wink

I bet she's got a summer house she rarely visits, a boat she rarely sails and a pool she rarely swims in as well...

I need to stop thinking about this now or I might not sleep tonight.

What if you had a boat house car filled with water for a pool and then put the lid up...

Edit. Quick google and you can get hot tub cars.... yes!

Yeah, well, you have opened another can of worms now.
My boat house car pool also has a BBQ. Now, how do I cook, gas or briquettes? The purist in me says charcoal, as briquettes are a bit fancy however gas is more convenient as the gas bottles are not worried about the water where as a bag of charcoal sinks and will need drying out. But to be seen cooking with gas.........

You'd have thought so, but you can never quite tell with these things.

Out of interest, after 22 pages of discussion do you feel any the wiser as to the answer to your original question?

I dare not say a word - whatever I say, someone will take offence and post about how offensive it is and how "oh my GERD...do we HAVE to have this thread every time there's a barbeque?" etc etc...

Actually, yes - there are some fairly interesting replies and reasons. Mixed in with some "if I want to own a convertible but don't like the fresh air, then how dare you even question me having a convertible?!" responses... smile

The final word?
Had 30 mile trip planned with no wish to pose or please others.
Have Mercedes convertible.
Weather so hot would have been uncomfortable even with a/c on.
Took wife's a/c equipped saloon Juke.
Journey was relaxed & comfortable.
Today bright but cooler, convertible with roof down a joy.

A-men. I get that. I sometimes drive the Focus and not the MX5.

You drive a focus when you could get the roof down in a mx5? How dare you.

Had a date in Aylesbury on Sunday night. Left the pub just after 11.
At around 10pm, the heavens opened, was absolutely bucketing down.
Went outside to leave, clear skies.
Dropped roof. Connected the blue tooth headunit to the iphone. Searched Youtube for a chilled night time driving playlist.
Then followed an hour and 10 minute topless drive home with the tunes under a starry sky.
Bliss.
