Four tailpipes look best. All cars should come with at least four tailpipes with options for more. You can never have enough 'zorst. wink
Apparently both ragazon and CSC make quad pipe exhausts for my 1.6 litre alfa, and the bore of em is only 2 mm less then my cylinders hehe

They do to VAG haters.

I don't recall seeing any complaints on here about the Civic's equally high tailpipe count.

I got no problem with quads provided they're practical.
Except they're likely not. A Type 997.2 911 GT2 which made 620HP had only two exhaust outlets -- one for each cylinder bank. Why does a Civic with an inline four that makes ~350 fewer HP need twice as many? Moreover, more powerful Lancer Evolutions only had a single exhaust outlet.
I wonder what the 0 to Asdas is in one of those? nice sooped up mums shopping car with quad exhaust, lol

This reminds me, my dad had a leaky exhaust and the MOT was due on the rass-claat, so I gave him and ART race can off my 400 Honda NC29. It sounded awesome, no word of a lie. Bagged a bird in that at one point too! Ultimate pulling machine.
There's a Suzuki Carry round here with two pedal-bin sized exhausts. I'll try and get a picture, it's hilarious. Sounds like a chipmunk farting in a tub of custard.

Thoughts on my GTR four pipes, all fully connected and functional?

Never been my cup of tea. Massive outer trims with pea shooters in the middle?
The equivalent of rolled up socks down your pants.

if in doubt

Saw this at a trackday. Can't work out if I was a fan or not. Was on a lovely JDM civic. Clearly belongs to someone's on here

That's my friends car. I laughed when I saw it, but can confirm it was a (failed) attempt to pass the drive by noise limit. It's just a hose clamp holding it on, usually just a single straight exit.

Most cars have trims on the exhaust

The SD1 has an odd exhaust. I think the idea was to stop the exhaust fumes being sucked up through the vents in the boot. It didn't work.

Probably 'cos the dreadful design of the car distracts attention from the equally ridiculous tailpipes biggrin

By all means correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly sure that the middle pipe on the F40 isn't technically an exhaust but rather the screamer pipe for the turbo wastegates (I know it's still exhaust gas that comes through it, but it does have a genuine purpose and proves that 3 can be a magic number, see also the Lexus LFA).

Thread is slightly confusing! I didnt get it at first either. But thread is about excessive/stupid/fake/massive exhaust pipes on cars that don't suit them.. A GTR needs four! Nice car smile

It really is a fabulous build! Even though Saabs aren't my cup of tea, I'd take a Hirsch tuned Saab any day because it really is a lot of power for not a lot of money!
