Sorry to break this to you sunshine, the only stick is going to be against our cars, not bicycles.

Mountain bikes and hybrids are OK on cycle paths, ROAD bikes are for use on the roads.
Surely mountain bikes must then be made for mountains? wink
Dunno, I only get mine out when I'm pissed tongue out
It's not you being pissed up in the wobbly video, is it? wink
I'd love to be able to give you a witty comeback in Russian, but I can't...

As someone who pretty much uses all modes of transport (except a motorcycle, nothing personal, just don't have a use for one) I'd estimate that 5% of people are complete wkers.

5% of people walking on pavements don't look where they're going, push or stare at iPhones.
5% of cyclists are over aggressive and don't bother with pedestrian crossings.
5% of train users feel the need to sit with their legs spread open like they have a bk condition.
5% of people in cars drive like they should be the sole user on the roads and everyone should move out of there way.

95% of people travelling in normal life are fine. 5% are absolute s. A large number on here would do well to try and fall into the first group. It's not that hard.
Surely it is 80% of people travelling in normal life are fine?...
Your maths are letting you down. If 5% of each group are defective then 5% of the overall batch will be defective.

The way you've phrased the above it looks like the % are all of one group, so 80% would be correct!

No it doesn't. Are we actually arguing about maths?

Yes. And I think you are both wrong.

If the groups are mutually exclusive - then you are right.
But obviously some pedestrians also cycle, some cyclists use the train etc....
So they aren't mutually exclusive.

So for you to be right it has to be the SAME 5% every time being dicks (which is reasonably likely but not definite).

Therefore the answer is somewhere in between 5-20%.

(Proof by example:
20 kids in the class.
They all cycle, drive, use the train and walk.
Frank loves his iphone.
Ottoline never stops on her bike.
Zachary actually HAS a bk problem.
And Bernard drives a jaguar.
So 4/20 are objectionable while the rest are upstanding citizens.)

We're not arguing about anything wink I'm pointing out that the way you wrote the percentages makes it read looks like you're talking about one large group.

No, Bernard is not objectionable for driving a Jaguar. Strange comment.
He's just a lucky kid. smile

WMP would seem to agree. A very well written article on the subject.
