ya well just because you do not like an articles opinion, doesn't mean you start gathering your pitchforks (typical lotus fans reaction),

OMG article has a typo,
writer must have bad history with lotus,
writer must have hidden bias,
why dont you say the same about porsche's and ferraris? you must be biased
post in official forums,
gather pitchforks...

Actually if you bothered to concern yourself with the thread you'd see that almost everyone replying (of which maybe 10% are lotus owners according to garages) - aside from yourself - are concerned with PHs writing in this article compared to other articles. Facts have been made in line with other manufacturers policies for options, facts have been referenced and conversation has gone on and led to the natural conclusion that to single out Lotus as a mockery for the price of options is conceited and unprofessionally written.

You're the only one acting like a ranting child, adamant to create a scene.

Bully? GOOD GOD MAN CALL THE MODS!

No one has bullied you. As said, you're the one making a scene. There are no official forums, SELOC, TLF etc are unofficial and unsponsored.

You're entitled to your opinion but your conduct is somewhat childish and troll like and therefore you're unlikely to be taken seriously... Even on PH.

On the plus side, your post count is now up to 5! party

Agree that whilst not a bad looking car at all, the Evora doesn't look quite right. I was at the Ace Cafe this week and a white GTE Evora rocked up. It looked utterly terrific. Then a 'normal' evora arrived; it was like comparing a 1.6 diesel focus to an RS. The car needs fatter rear arches (for starters).

No problem with these prices. A fool and their money are easily parted and there's always one coming along.

Good on 'em, I wouldn't spend that on the bits myself but maybe others will - it's increased choice so where's the downside?

Garbage vehicle, garbage company, go visit their official forums and try to complain about something or some quality issue and you will be immediately branded as a troll and banned, but the quality control is still piss poor, even the "loyal fans" fill pages and pages with their daily issues, maybe lotus is good purchase for a 3rd or 4th car but not a daily driver at all.

you cant shut me up here @bibs biggrin
lol... We have official forums???

Tbh owners forums are all the same - paint a virtually 90% negative image of the model you're buying.

Mines a daily.. I've had some issues.. but hey it's handbuilt and stuff went wrong just as much with my Focus RS Mk2...

I've only seen ACTUAL trolls banned from TLF. Recently a new Porsche owner who just proclaimed that the Evora was overpriced and wasn't as good as the car he's bought (looked like a cooking spec 911) despite not driving it and the fact that he'd outright argued with the dealer in a combative manner. He then went on the argue in a very combative and disregarding manner any researched and referenced fact TLF masses could highlight to him.

So in other words, stereotypical porker driver whistle

What a funny last few posts....

If the writers opinion is that the options are expensive, then yes, I agree.
If the writer thinks the article witty, amusing or balanced, I respectfully disagree.

As for the comment about Lotus owners accepting the car isn't a Ferrari or Porsche. Well obviously.

I suspect most considered a Porsche and went for a Lotus consciously for specific reasons. And only very few will be scratching their chin over the choice between a new Evora or an old 360. And the main difference here is likely to be if it's a car to use and enjoy or to cherish as something particularly rare and appreciating.

I don't understand the hate. Lotus, Porsche, Ferrari... All brilliant in their way and all very different.

good as long as you concede the fact that Lotus IS NOT Mclaren, that Lotus is not Ferrari and that Lotus is Not Porsche, and that the writer CAN single you out all is well in the world. the brand name alone of those companies you so easily compare Lotus to is more expensive than all of lotus combined. so the writer is well within his professional opinion and is justified, he has no ulterior motives, he has no bias, he just lives in the real world, in the year 2016. and not some fantasy setting where lotus = those brands.

edit: post count 6 now mofo

Pretty sure I said that in my opening post Lotus had far less money than those media compare it to. Nice rewording of my own input. As said i fully support people voicing their opinion - that's what a forum is at the end of the day.

Your rhetoric is boring. I think you are the one in a fantasy setting - me against the world of Lotus. The reality is a 'new' user with 6 posts, all in one thread, pushing a rhetoric that no one really is concerned about.

The only question that remains now is what you'll say in lucky post number 7!

Try to keep calm.

The only problem with the article is the lack of balance and the tone. Lotus will be trying to cash in on the inclination of some owners to spend after market money on their cars. Are the options expensive? Yes. Is the article written in a sarcastic and unbalanced way? Yes. I'm not sure the article is therefore very 'professional', but this is just my opinion and you obviously disagree which is fine.

I will add that the only aggression or attempt at bullying I've read is from you.

Are you saying that the other brands are all the same? You can't be, they all stand for different things, have different values and priorities, and of course different price points. No one thinks Lotus do being a Porsche better than Porsche. But Lotus do some very lovely things in the line of being Lotus.

Once again, you don't have to agree, but what has happened to make you quite so angry?

not really, I read a lot but don't usually comment, the fact that the lotus fanboys started gathering their pitchforks because they didnt like what the writer was saying ticked me off and i decided its not right, i want to show the writer that there ARE people that agree with him and no amount of drum beating and fanboyism should have an effect on his opinion either now, or in the future, beat your drums all you like my friend, but don't do it here.

@hungrymc , can you show me in the article where he criticized Lotus in an "unbalanced" way? or is any criticism automatically unbalanced?

Just googled that as i'd never heard of it before - quite an interesting read regarding the psychological imbalance imbued upon those of lower stature from viewing society as a whole disregarding them - causing them to act out unnecessary aggression in an attempt to compensate for their perceived abuse - further distancing themselves from society.

I don't have drum to beat - i have a guitar to pluck though...

You're not a mod - you hold no position of moderation what so ever so quite frankly (neither do i) - I'll type what i want (and so should you). I type nothing i wouldn't say to someone in person. What i type is referenced fact and where ambiguity to tone (as tone can't be implied in text) is present i tend to announce the tone obviously to avoid needless confrontation and derailing.

I'm up to 1,641... This thread has been quite good for my post count too biggrin
