What do you keep in your boot?
Discussion
Nothing. It routinely gets nicked otherwise.
However, once upon a time i used to carry a spare set of work clothes, going out clothes, wash kit, bed clothes etc. I was single once.
Longer journeys i have a box of bits which i pop in the car - tow rope, water, medical kit, power bars etc.

Emergency kit bag (includes a flag should we ever need to alert anyone we are stuck in a snow drift), but among the slightly less useful items my wife carries around are:
A sample piece of hardwood flooring ( job was done 2 yrs ago, she hasn't got round to removing it yet)
Various pieces of aerobics equipment, hand weights, etc
A box of 60 odd harvest chewy bars ( never made it to the house from Costco)
An old zip up top of mine, handy for emergency use
About eleventy billion re useable shopping bags, I think my wife has cornered the worldwide market for these
I suspect there are other thing in there, but I darent look

I owned a E30 BMW 318is back in the day I always had a huge bag of sand in the boot to give the car more traction.
Made a real difference to the car as it was terrible without it.
Knowing how rear wheel drive cars still struggle when the snow comes down perhaps this would still help.
I forgot to mention in the SNOW which hopefully now makes sense.

3 ton trolley jack, still unopened.
Two litres of water.
Seven and a half litres of oil, an oil filter, eight spark plugs and an air filter.
A pair of wellies.
Tucked down around the spare wheel, wrapped in rags to stop any noise : a full Halfrauds professional socket set, 7-30 mm spanners and a lump hammer.
A big torch and several hundred marine shells.
I've just realised that I am turning into my Dad.

- scrap of carpet nicked from a property I managed - comes in super useful for tip trips
- blue tarp from B&Q - as above
- Halfords Motorists tool kit
- my "site visit bag" - has binoculars, one of those folding tools with pliers, knives, screw drivers etc., mini tape measure, all FB keys I might need
- my ageing TomTom700
- bottle of Redex
Being a Ford Puma owner the only thing in my boot of consequence is a large box to prop up the parcel shelf so the Jack Russell can assume his usual perch. Boot may sometimes contain parcel shelf and Jack Russell when this fails.
Also lots of short white hairs and sand.
Somewhere in there is the interior light which disappeared into the bodywork some years ago, probably in the direction of the wheel arch meaning that it's likely at some point to shine through the rust like a Halloween lantern.
