Not read the whole thread, but surely the 250bjp and over bracket of the TT is limited to the TTS.

Have you sat in them and felt the plastic ? And how wide are they ??!!
I recall Performance car saying the old GT felt like an Elise to drive. The old car had the daft doors though so you needed space to get out.

As for width, not sure but I refuse to have an Enzo for that reason wink
I sold my F40 because of its shocking cabin finish, how they sold any I just don't know wink

I've just sold mine, a V8 GT Manual, not sure why but I have and I made a few quid too. It didn't quite blow me away like I thought it would, the engine sound is muted, the pitch and dive is noticeable and it's a big car that doesn't have that magic trick of shrinking around you. It is screaming out to be modified which is all well and dandy unless your car is on finance and then you have the insurance implications.
It's built to be tinkered with.

They throw a car out there set up for the mass market and than the huge aftermarket caters to the enthusiast.

How about an exhaust for your mustang?

I can see everyone is shocked by the "rational car choice" ... I agree, why would it not be rational ?

Personally I don't think a diesel car should be considered as sporty at all. Who buys a V8 and thinks about Mpg ? ??
I have a 300+ hp diesel Audi A6 estate with 7 speed flappy paddles 0_60 in 5 seconds and 163mph top end, I would love the v8 mustang for the sound and the looks but on paper it's nowhere near as quick as the Audi. I wonder if the Mrs would let me keep the Audi for the Rottweiler and get a mustang for fun (doubt itbiggrin)

The police who stopped me for being naughty in mine firstly had no idea what it was and asked me,

How much? 120k? 150k?

I replied, probably not much more than your kitted out Focus lol

They are doubly stupid if they let other people's opinions affect their car choices

Get what YOU enjoy and fk what other people think or what jurno's tell you.

I agree, but it is a fact of life. We are social animals and almost all of us will at sometime let what other people think influence our buying decisions, even if we don't realise it.

I remember about 25 years ago a lad I knew wanted a Mk2 Escort as his first car but his mother told him that he wasn't parking a Ford on her drive.

Stop being a clown.

Have you been to school or even learnt any life skills at all? How about being able to understand and explain someone else's point of view without agreeing with it.

No one has said to your face "it's only a Ford", but people do think like that. I work with a lot of young graduates and I've heard those exact words. In fact it was used about a Brand new Focus RS a few years back, also described as a Chav car, by lads who went out and bought Audis with their new found wealth. I know another guy who was after a 4x4 sort of thing and scoffed when people suggested a Kuga, he wouldn't be seen dead in a Ford. He bought a used Merc ML in the end. To suggest that no on thinks like this and it's just me is frankly laughable. The irony of you saying to me that you can't take me seriously.

Why do you think Honda never sold Many Honda NSXs? Was it because it was no good, outclassed by the 911 or was it because it had the wrong badge?

Oh and for the record this is what you can get by way of a BMW:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

Or this

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

This is the cheapest new V8 Mustang on Autotrader

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

Yes you get more power with the Ford, but then people are prepared to pay more for the Badge with a BMW, and perhaps a little bit more polished handling and some nicer soft touch plastics etc.

And for the 3rd time, no I don't think like that and I'd buy a Ford over a VAG product any day of the week for example. But I guess this will fall on deaf ears because you don't seem to be able to understand the concept of knowing someone else's opinion and being able to explain it without agreeing with it. Do yourself a favour, never get a job that requires you to negotiate because you'd be st at it. wink

I agree with what you're saying, however I do think the Mustang is different from a perception perspective because of its iconic global status and also it doesn't have Ford badges.

Personally I can't see myself ever buying a new German car, I just find them too dull and mainstream. I would buy an older / classic German motor though.

A Mustang in the USA is mainstream, but it certainly is not that yet in the UK.

I'm pleased Ford took the risk and it seems to be paying off, can we have a Dodge Challenger in RHD format please?

The Mustang is different and like the GT is a car that could possibly break away from the normal Ford brand image.

The silly thing is how long it took Ford to bring the Mustang to Europe.

I wouldn't buy any new car, they're just not good value for money IMHO.

Fords biggest problem is aftercare... there are some proper shockers out there when it comes to parts availability and dealer support.
Looks great Kapital

I agree about some of the dealers - for me the local Mini dealer has been the best - maybe Ford should do something similar to the BMW/Mini split or like Ford did with RS brand years back - a few specialist dealers countrywide but you can also go in all mainstream Ford places

Aftercare has been mentioned what about actually buying the thing. I had a bit of an obsession with these several months back, try going into your local Ford dealer and buying one? First off I was told that NONE of my local dealers will have them (but they will service it, great so you get a guy that has never seen a stang before working on your car), then I was told to contact a branch part of the same dealer group that might have one, might be a convertible can't say what spec but heard they were getting one next week, maybe.

I gave up.

FFS Ford sort your act out. Its nothing short of a miracle the number of these that have sold. Really they need to have a small network of specialist dealers to carry this car (or the Focus RS for that matter) that are focused on this sort of product, actually know something about the product, can actually give you a test drive in one something like the one you might buy, will look after you and the car in a manner befitting of something costing the thick end of £40k.

To be fair, rightly or wrongly most franchises won't really give a st about going the extra mile to help a Mustang customer when they can churn out a million Fiestas a month.
